Regarding Kiss FM's top 40 years, they were leaning rock late in the 80s and then they were adult contemporary right before they switched to country. I remember hearing Crosby, Stills and Nash and even Otis Redding's "Sittin' on the Dock of the Bay".
And if I remember correctly, it was during this short-lived AC period that the "WKSF" calls were used in tandem with the "Kiss" slogan. In other words, the calls weren't restricted to a quick once-an-hour mention during the legal ID. Oh, how I wish the heyday of the heritage Kiss-FM could've continued. I was actually thinking yesterday -- as I was able to get some hints of "Star 104.3" driving around Morganton -- what if CC flipped country over to 104.3 and Hot AC to 99.9.
