WLTJ changes name to Q92.9

Why is it the clicky link things on the front page never work? ???

I listened for as long as I could take it, and GrizzledVet and steveironcity are both right...100.7 brought to you by Dingo & the Baby. Yuck!

Lame with a capital "L". Nothing but a "Fresh" station all the way down to the oval and the bluish-green tint. As someone mentioned on another board, all they did was dump a bunch of salaries. I don't think WSHH has much to be nervous about.

They should just play elevator music 24/7 at this rate, what a joke. Nothing like forcing what little listeners you have away. It shows little thought was put into it or what is to come.

Wow, just what Pittsburgh needed, another form of AC. Their choice to switch to Bob proved to be a good move. But not sure of this one!

In my opinion, off to a lousy start. I can't see how this name change is going to help their ratings.

The more I listen the more annoyed I get with the constant announcing of song title/artists. Whoever hired their new consultant over there should be fired!

And another thing, what moron would pick a letter like Q with Q92 getting into the west side of the market and U92 in the north east? Looks like a lot of room for confusion.... Should have just went with Polka92!

BAD BAD BAD

You know what? The big challenge will be to see if Q92.9 can beat K Rocks worst ratings. LOL!

Polka92 would have serious potential if it weren't for the fact most polka listeners haven't discovered FM yet.

This is so narrowly-defined it has very little chance. They're trying to niche themselves between WSHH with the softer stuff, 3WS with more rock, and Star with more 90's and currents. Plus in this market a lot of 35-54 females listen to DVE and Y108.

I just don't think this mix of music fits very many people's taste... most women won't turn off the station if you play something a little more upbeat. In fact, I don't think you can effectively reach that audience without some Bon Jovi and few other classic rock artists.

This the the reincarnation of the FM97 "Femme FM" from the 80's....

3WS on the other hand is now all over the place.... I heard Van Halen's "Love Comes Walking In" (is that the title?... a Van Hagar cut from the Mick Jones make-VH-sound-like-Foreigner CD) and later they segued the Beatles' "Things We Said Today" into "Play That Funky Music". Just a train wreck.

They could have a "Q Zoo" and "Boogie Checks" at night. Then add a social event club called "MIX Chicks" and they can cover all the bases. Look at the ratings of MIX100.7 in Tampa and B103.7 in Richmond for forward thinking.

Mr. Renda always said he would drive them out of the format. Perhaps WSHH finally did.

Nothing wrong with the "Q" handle if you use it correctly. But they need to get the music right first.

I can't tell if you are being sarcastic or serious.

I used the feedback link that was posted on here and sent a message saying I didn't like the change to much, as it made the station feel lifeless.

I got a response saying that the station would be having notable Pittsburgh personalities.

Anyone want to take a stab at who those might be?

Can anyone please tell me where Gary and Beth went? I won't listen to that station anymore without them there. You know the old saying, If itin't broke, don't fix it. :'( :'( :'(
