You're telling me Cunningham's show has higher rates than Jim Scott's morning show? Doubt it.

Yes I am. I believe that Cunninghams ratings are higher if you take into account of the "drive time" stats. Alot of people are listening to Jim Scott because they are in the car. They listen to Cunningham for the content. The definition of drive time. I would love to find Arbitron for the addition of Satellite Radio numbers. Has Jim Scotts numbers gone down because "there is something else to listen to"? I think Cunningham has higher numbers because people tune to HIS show not to WLW while in the car.

Back to the point at hand, You can charge more for a 30 second spot ad NOW than you could BEFORE he won the Marconi! It's radio ad sales 101. Drive time "is what it is"! A huge portion of time when people are in their cars, listening to their radio. It's either WLW or WCKY depending on the demographics you are looking at. Why would Eddie and Tracy have such great numbers in the afternoon. Because of their content?? Eddie talks normal and Tracy takes the opposing point of view, no matter how ludicrous. A basic radio premise that has been used since radio was developed. You really think Tracy believes all that he says? You really thinks he has a weight clause in his prenuptual agreement? Or a 5 and out clause? I bet $10.00 he doesn't even have a prenup! He has a Series 7 and Series 63. That doesn't make him Warren Buffett. He does a radio show 5 days a week and (if you listen to him) travels to CA. every off day! When does he have time to trade a stock?

They have their ratings because they work the afternoon drive time, not because they have a great informative show.

A famous man once quoted, "Radio Is Theater of the Mind". You can make people believe whatever you want as long as the mic is on. That doesn't make it fact!

Even though Eddie and Tracy have the highest rated show, that doesn't make them the most educated, informative or entertaining. It makles them the highest rated based on their air time! When 99% of people with jobs are in their car!

Given that very few people listen to satellite radio on a nationwide basis, while I'm sure that there's a few people who listen on satellite, the audience is probably a lot smaller than you might think.
