WLW's ID and Alternate Programming
> Just for the sake of picking nits, the on-air personality
> reads the legal ID in live programming, and the produced
> news open does not include it.
I hadn't been listening to the over-air top-hour news open all that closely, so I didn't know if it had a "WLW Cincinnati" in it (which would still function as a legal ID, even after the spoken one was already read). Up here, Cleveland's "Big One", WTAM, does the ID in the news open.
> Will be interesting to
> see when Reds season starts full-force if they'll have Sloan
> on XM only..or possibly Bill Boschears. They could probably
> squeeze in Burbank's "Weekly Rearview" if needed on XM (it
> hasn't aired on WLW for months).
As mentioned, Sloan has to be available even if there's a Reds game, as games can get rained out. Or at least when there's a chance of a rainout.
But if there's no weather, maybe they'll give him the night off.
Here's what's going on this afternoon, per their schedule:
----------
12:30-4PM THE CINCINNATI REDS @ NEW YORK YANKEES
700WLW’s Joe Nuxhall and Steve Stewart…LIVE from Tampa.
(West Virginia at Cincinnati basketball available on XM 173 and 1360 Homer)
----------
And sure enough, XM 173 is playing the Bearcats game feed from 1360 Homer...
Interestingly, the Reds/Yankees game is NOT being carried on any of XM's MLB channels, from either team's network. I don't know how many Spring Training games XM carries, though, and I know they've also got the World Baseball Classic in the rotation. There are other Spring Training games up this afternoon.
