WMYR Timeless Cool changing?

'QBQ is owned by Rama. They consider FCC regulations optional.

I was going to be diplomatic in my response about the licensee. However, I like your explanation much better than mine. ;)

So Mark are you saying the reason WMYR has been coming in so badly in Fort Myers is because of WQBQ staying on high power all night? Why wouldn't their new engineer check that out before f___ing with the signal?

DISCLAIMER: I never said anything as an absolute. I'm saying WQBQ remaining on day pattern at night is a POSSIBILTY considering the interference problem was never an issue in the past. Otherwise WQBQ should not have a signal, at all, in Fort Myers. The best and most advantageous approach would be for each station's respective engineers to work together to resolve the issue and either confirm the problem is coming from WQBQ and "fix" the problem, or rule WQBQ out as the cause of interference.

Why wouldn't their new engineer check that out before f___ing with the signal?

Which "their" engineer are you referering? WQBQ? or WMYR?

The 2010 ratings from Arbitron were embargoed due to a few stations deciding not to buy them, BTW.

I just now noticed the WMYR / WCNZ audio web stream is back online. The format almost sounds classic hits tonight as I have heard Stevie Wonder "Superstition" segued into Chicago "Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?". The audio sounds a little muddy. However, at least it is back online.

No, but I hear that Meridian and WAVV did not subscribe.

I turned WVOI back on today, as I had to go to the WCNZ/WVOI site to reboot the 'CNZ transmitter.
Now to start undoing the damage done recently...

I'm very happy to know WVOI is back on the air. Hopefully you can get WCNZ and WMYR back up to par very soon as well.

Sorry Your Phill WCNZ was off air this morning around 7 am and WVOI is still off, has been all day up to now, 3 pm est. Those stations used to stay on all the time can't you just put things back like they was?

It's not my call. I just do what they want done.
Odd about 1480. The Sine systems remote control is thoroughly screwed up. I have had time only to partially address. that issue.

If it was up to me, I'd redo about 80% of what's there, from the satellite receiver to the transmitter.

Ok so I'm driving through South Naples on early this morning and no 1660 on the air. Instead, I hear a sports talk station on 1660. This is at about 6:30. Also, no 1480 at all today or Friday night or Sunday! But it was on earlier last week. How long before the FCC catches up with these guys? Isn't there some sort of a limit of time you can be off the air before you have to return your license?

If any station is silent for more than 12-months continuously, the FCC will automatically cancel the license. "Off-and-on and back off" operations alone will not render the license null and void so long as the station is not off the air longer than 12-months, such as 12-months and one day. However, "on-again, off again" operational practices may cause problems for the licensee when it's time for license renewal as a long-term sporatic "on / off" schedule is not considered by the FCC to be in the public interest.

Believe me, it is a world-class, self-inflicted mess.

Explain why these stations stayed on the air ok last Spring and Summer

My post on November 22 was premature. Jump ahead to today and you will find that not only has WVOI been off the air for weeks but there is no longer any advertising for the format in R-I or Access. Contract ran out at end of year or is past due?

Sorry can't let it go, 1660 WCNZ off the air again this morning like before 7 to maybe 8:30?. Last week I was listening to hocky on them when bang there's jazz music. It stayed like that for six of seven minutes then switched back to hockey. The comentator didn't even mention being gone. I thought they originated those games themselves but maybe he wanted to ignore the slip or maybe they didn't tell him. Probably didn't tell him. Ya and 1480 is a gonner. I believe I heard the stations are being run by kids now who don't respect the music and would rather rock. SAD

You're mixing two problems (at least) together.
The hockey game situation? The pbp person can't hear the air signal, I'm sure.
Why it was off for 90 minutes? That's news to me.
"theice", your information is incorrect. 1480 should be back on soon. There's a bit o' antenna work that needs doing first.
And I don't understand your last comment.
