What this thread is all about is..... some guy in South Philly trying to invest his money on becoming the next Dr. Don, Joe Niagra, Howard Stern, or Paul Walker, on a brokered dying directional mono AM World War 2 Gates board 500 watt radio station. And using this web site to attract an audience. I still think he should go into real estate...what are your thoughts?

It's self-less self promotion. I still don't understand how one says "I have a brokered gig," then says, "It's a verbal agreement, nothing in writing." What's the deal.
Jay's right ... but here's another way to look at it...
For all the self-promotion for nothing ... why doesn't Mike just go look for a real radio job. Be a board op (even at 'NJC, they should could use one.) Why not go knocking on doors? Why not send out a t&r (ok...I know, there's not much there.) Then why spend your hard earned money to do "brokered" radio and get no return?

Jay I listened to you on 1210 and 101.5 you were very entertaining and sorry they you off the air but dude just cause I want to be back like you were back in the day does not mean I should get knocked hell I knew many radio personalities on a personal level so why not be my friend too now.bigjay said:No offense...is it ME boys and girls, but did ANYONE understand this whole thread? ??? Aside from being a year out of date (2007), there is no way you could be like Jay was "back in the day" or now.
First of all, Jay was, and is, highly literate and knows the English language and how to use it to communicate. Secondly, Jay was PAID to be on the radio.
Want to be like Big Jay Sorenson? You'll need lots of remedial reading and comprehension classes, extensive vocal coaching and an excellent knowledge of the business of radio.
Of course, how you'll ever develop a personality is an entirely different subject.

WNJC's output is basically crap because of tech issues, and yet the owner decides to put money into a new venture. The website makes a claim, Mike Phillips lets the air out of the claim. Plus, Mike is fun to toy with-with his 'verbal contract' and his live remotes...so, maybe we pour derision on him and this board to eliminate stress. That's what I do, anyway...and the word games.

Glad you asked. It’s just a simply logarithmic calculation:
The major lobe power = [s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c)] when s = (a+b+c)/2h(pi r) + (2 pi r) h (x-j)^2 + (y-k)^2, then multiply by 7 to the six power divided by it’s square root.
