WOCL and WHTQ Hit Rock Bottom

I guess with the rest of the Cox cluster as structured in Orlando (MMO, K92, DBO, Star, Party) they can go narrow. There ARE classic rock stations elsewhere that have at least SOME females.... DVE in Pittsburgh has had books where they are #1 males AND females 25-54... of course they have a morning show that isn't stomach-turning for female listeners.

The fact remains that the station is in LAST PLACE 12+ among full-market FM signals.

WJRR is beating them 12+ and has no morning show.

Who cares? Nobody sells 12+.
Old,Tired Argument....You sound like our Sales Manager...You've got to have decent numbers in more than one demo to show up with any numbers 12 PLUS. Oh Were #1 in 18-24 females doesn't matter that were 25th place 12 plus. THe Station #1 or #2 12 PLUS is going to have good numbers 18-24,18-34,18-44,18-49,25-44,25-49,25-54 in both Male & Female Genders.

Actualy there can be exceptions to that, like WDUV in Tampa where they are #1 12+ and everyone is over 55... but by and large I agree with you... and object even more when the "we're #1 in our tiny little sliver" argument is presented with an arrogant, condescending attitude....

ROFLMAO

Over 26% of the Orlando Market 12+ is Male 25-54 - so that is narrow?

You're right, all 6 Cox stations should just go after everyone, compete with each other and end up with no one - there's real strategic thinking ::)

Over 30% of WHTQ's Cume is female - and 2nd grade math says 30% are some.

I am sure they will be laughing all the way to the bank as they deposit their billing.

No, not at all. Star, Party and K92 probably generate plenty of female billing, so if as you say 26% of the Orlando market is fat loser guys in black T-shirts who drop f-bombs every 12 seconds, and you can sell that, you are in fact the programming genius you perceive yourself to be.

Sick 'em Randy! This gaggle o' geek forgot to fly South for the winter. Oh, wait a sec. Orlando IS south. That explains it.

heheh. Same old Randy. :)

Considering close to 50% of the ad buys in Orlando are 25-54, and less than 1% 12+, yes, you go fishing where the fish are.

If you would spend less than a total of 8.5+ days on Radio_info and more time in the real world, perhaps you would realize the basics of business.

I'm just playing with you, actually ( I enjoy seeing people get annoyed, what can I say?) The above info was the answer I was looking for when I started this conversation, but I figured unless you felt like you were ripping me you wouldn't be interested enough to carry on the conversation.

And thanks for being interested in how much time I spend here, but over the course of the 4 years since I started reading these boards, the 10-15 minutes I spend at 6am or at lunch isn't particularly detrimental to my real life, in which I do not work in radio. But thanks so much for your concern.

Is anything you have posted on this thread (or this board) correct?

WDUV's Weekly Cume is 632,900 of which roughly 45% is under 55.

My math teacher always told me that over a quarter million is a lot more than none.

OK, let's change "everyone is over 55" to "the majority of which are over 55"..... the point is still that the demos are a tad on the old side.
