Wonder when whas will fill the 9 till noon shift???

Joe said today on the Sunday Morning Talkshow that he would be hosting the 9-12 time spot all week this coming week. Interesting . . .

I heard that too this morning and glad to hear it's happening. He had a very interesting interview with Billy Reed on the history of Freedom Hall.
 
If i am not mistaken this will be the first time since francene passed that 9-noon will be local ;D

I would love to have heard francene's take on the whole kentcuky state fare board vs six flags kentucky kingdom debacle.

I bet she would have said this was just a way for six flags to get out of this market.

I bet Francene and the angels are getting along well;D

True - he has been the only thing local since then. Plus, he sounded as good as ever. It was like he was trying to impress someone. Oddly enough, he usually doesnt have to try that hard.

Joe is a professional, but I'm sure this week corporate execs are listening in. He will have to impress these characters to get the gig. Whether he gets this job, I believe he holds the respect of his listeners for putting a good show on for years.

True...in just the short time I listened, two listeners told him how happy they were to be hearing him again...one even said that they 'had to turn WHAS off' for the past couple of weeks due the the 'pre-Joe' hosts.
 
The last two times that position has been open, they've gone with an out-of-market, up-and-coming talent that no one here had ever heard of. Based on the track record, my money says that's what will happen again.

That's because it's the cheapest route. And like you, I expect them to do it again.
 
From what i heard kelly carls wants someone for the 9-noon shift that is edgy and somewhat controversial and i did here that joe elliott is in the running for it. I was told to call carls and say i want joe so i did he said thank you for your input. Francene was good at what she did but was not controversial or edgy but very good and a warm person.They tried edgy aka ziegler now i liked him but his style is mot the ville.

So we shall see hopefully joe will get it but at least it will be local again whoever gets the gig which the shift has only been for 1 week since Francene's passing.

I called last week and left a message for Carls saying I wanted Joe to have the 9 to noon shift. I hope it helps. I can't believe that this St. Louis guy would be in the running since he has that gig now.
 
If paul harris does get the gig he had better move here or whas will have hell to pay. You do not I REPEAT DO NOT GIVE THAT SHIFT TO ANYONE THAT DOES NOT LIVE HERE IN LOUISVILLE KENTUCKY!!!MAY KELLY CARLS ROT IN YOU KNOW WHERE IF HE DOES THAT!!!

Paul harris is cold everyone else at least has some warmth to them like jane norris n zielger and francene!!!

Clear channel has gotten far worse since bains capital took over the reins.

This man should NEVER, EVER, EVER be allowed on a microphone again. He relishes in rambling on multiple points. On WHAS this morning he couldn't decide whether to talk about the reduction in TARC service, or the Tiger Woods apology. If you read a transcript of his show, there would be more commas than periods!

They probably have a hiring deadline in the area of March 1. That's only 6 weeks after Francene's passing, and that will be very aggressive if they can pull it off that quickly. But they need to.

The person they hire will probably have to give notice to their current employer, find a new place to live, and make arrangements to move. That part alone will take 2-3 weeks.

The magic date is April 1, because that's when the book starts. It wouldn't surprise me if that was the new person's first official day on the job.
