WOR Goes Country

I've never heard of a country station before, because it is on an webstream at WOR's website. Look what other stations are playing country music out in the suburbs on any standard terrestrial stations. We've got WDBY's "Kicks 105.5" which is good in Danbury, CT. WKXP's "The Wolf" at 94.3 in Poughkeepsie and WZAD on 97.3, sounds the same as WOR's new country station. Both of these stations in Danbury and Poughkeepsie are owned by Cumulus and with the exception of WRWD, another country competitor at 107.3 which is the home of the morning show with CJ. I owuld love to check that out. Country would be good in the suburbs on any terrestrial FM station like "Kicks 105.5", "The Wolf" and WRWD are sound the same as it is now being heard on the WOR's new country webcast station, "The Elephant". WABC had a country station a while back called "WABC Country", another webcast station, but it does going to compete with WOR's new country station.

If you want to hear any country station on terrestrial radio beside these two on web stream, try WRWD, "The Wolf" and "Kicks 105.5".

And BTW, "The Wolf" also carries the flagship station for Yankees baseball every season on FM, it sounds a lot clearer like the one you hear on CBS-FM's HD3 channel.

Same here - although keep in mind that a lot of the Citadel stations have switched their streaming to an AAC+ format (but the player type is already by www.streamtheworld.com: http://player.streamtheworld.com/_players/citadel/?sid=8365&nid=2920, so it should work anyway ???).

Here's the link to the Real Country online page which is the originator of the programming heard on www.WABCCountry.com - the "Listen Live" link has disappeared from that page as well, so maybe something's up with both links:

As is the case with WOR's new country stream, there is little that is customized for the New York area in Go Country New York, from KKGO. Just an occasional mention of New York, in the sweepers.
But I like it better than WOR's stream, as there are more non-current songs being played, and so far, no commercials or PSA's.
Currently, neither stream offers anything that cannot be heard from hundreds of other contemporary country stations and online broadcasts. But hopefully, more local content will be added over the next few months to these newly launched streams.
