Recent article in Boston Globe said that once Nassau gets its hands on the intellectual property and calls of
WCRB Waltham/Boston (it would move to 99.5 from 102.5) they want to set up a national network of
classical stations, and they may switch "as many as five" signals in NH & VT to classical...not sure if WORK
would be one of these, but if they think Frank will "WORK"... But you're right, if mp103 already reaches those counties, why bother? (Then again doesn't 101.7, classical from Stowe, reach that area too? Hmm.)
(from Globe: "Once the purchase of WCRB is completed, Mercatanti says, he intends to switch as many as five of Nassau's 23 New Hampshire and Vermont stations to classical. He declined to say which stations will be flipped, but other Nassau stations currently broadcast a variety of formats, such as adult album alternative and classic rock.")
By the way isn't WORK the station with the very long legal ID? I know, it's supposed to be "WORK-FM Barre" but they have been known to add the names of about 7 other towns in the area afterwards...
