Back on-topic, I don't give a damn who buys the building or what label they decide to throw on it. It'll always be the Sears Tower to me, and I'll call it that 'til my dying day.

Just like when 3Crud bought Candlestick Park in SF. I didn't call it 3Com Park, nor did I call it Monster Park when...well, you get the lamebrained idea.

When I was a radio news anchor, I refused to call it anything but Candlestick Park when the Giants 'n' 9ers played home games. Funny, no one ever complained, but then, I can't say I'da cared if they had...

I agree. The White Sox still and will always play in Comiskey Park as far as I'm concerned. It was and is the Sears Tower.

And Pluto is still one of the NINE planets, thank you very much.

Ladies and gentlemen, lets replay that tape, please!

"WAS" beng the key word in this sentence. Thank you!

Don't be too smug! "WAS" might be the key word for everyone when the remaining talent is replaced by "Microsoft Sam". :-(

It is--isn't it?

I'd like to join this debate, but I really can't. My car needs gas, and I need to go to my local Standard station to fill up.

(You expect more from Standard, and you get it!.....Fahey Flynn)

I'm heading to "Bulco Ultra fuel" or should I go to Sinclair at the sign of the dinosaur?

The Sinclair dinosaur is alive and well (after all it's an oil company) as nearby as Iowa, Minnesota, and Missouri.

Uh, care to clarify, "Prais?" Did you mean to come across the way you did? Wanna replay THAT tape?

I was merely making an observation; When a place changes ownership, the new owner has the right to call the purchased property what they want. That's business.

Do you call radio stations that have changed call letters by their old call letters, too?

I do in fact do just that..... 670 will always be wmaq to me..... 99.9 in Kankakee will always be Wbus...the bus..... b-96 will always be the killer bee to me....etc... If 94.7 wasnt wls Fm I would still call it z-95,,, and if I were even older I would probably still call it Disco DAI.... OH... and v-103,,, I call it v-103,, but I still attach wbmx to that.... 102.3 up north aka Lake 102,, will always be hot 102 to me.. Im no old fart either, im not even quite 30 yet,, I know im younger than all of you....

...and Wisconsin. There was a Sinclair on a frontage road alongside East Washington Avenue near I-90 in Madison for ages (although it's been four years since I was last in Madison and the thing may have changed franchises by now)...
