Worst songs on country radio

None of this changes the facts. Today's music is garbage.

"The facts?" The above is your opinion, which you are entitled to, but don't try to call it "the facts." ::)
None of this changes the facts. Many of the people who liked country music in the past consider these new country songs to be garbage.

Better?

And my mother, who loved Frank Sinatra, thought The Beatles made garbage music and needed a haircut. Just goes to show you opinions are like noses...everybody's got one.

Waylon and Willie were called the Outlaws for a reason..a lot of folks hated them because they displaced the likes of Tom T. Hall. VChimp, other than soft instrumentals, what do you actually like? you are on board after board slamming music.

So do I, though the softer music is growing on me after all these years.

http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=4537688 and http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=13008191 (pop vocals; for the second one scroll down to post #215 if the computer is slow, andnotice I have a different name for AC songs just to throw people off)
http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=4537686 (instrumentals, post 19)
http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=4592503 (country, post 42)
http://lounge.cwtv.com/showthread.php?p=5418604 (Christmas, post 282)

Each list is incomplete. I keep hearing songs I want to add to each list.

I started a second AC iPod for the same reason I added the AC iPod in the above post to the standards iPod. Some songs I like better than others.

Getting back to why t's important how bad country sounds, I was in a grocery store last Tuesday. I was tired, hungry, thirsty and not in the mood for noise. The second I walk in the door they're blasting country music. Now the stores I usually go to at least have the AC junk at a respectable volume. Shortly after I arrived, it got worse. Reba McEntire's "Strange". Now I really needed something to unstop my sink and I'm happy to say the stuff worked. I shouldn't have stayed in that store just to save a few pennies, though. I was hungry and thirsty but didn't necessarily need a lot of what I got other than to save money compared to what I might have paid elsewhere. Had I not been desperate, I might have just left. Amazingly, when I buy Converse All-Stars in pretty colors I don't have, it's amazing what I'll put up with.

Well when certain radio stations mix country with old southern rock this should have been expected...First i ask are you country or are you rock...As George Strait & Alan Jackson Have Sung.."Murder On Music Row"...What's with Aldean doing mixiing "She's Country" with DJ finnesse...Lets not forget Tim McGraw doing that hip hop artist thing...What was he thinking...That set Tim's career a few steps back....Let's get back to the real country music...Oh wait Lyric Street deserves to close their doors for promoting the WORST country act yet "Rascal Flatts" who are nothing but the remake of the Backstreet Boys...Disney knock youself out...Oh! KID ROCK...You'll never make it in COUNTRY...Don't even get me goin' on Keith Urban...I blame it on the record labels more than the artist...And some radio stations...We need to wake up the record labels...the artist are going to go where their told...I believe it all started with the crossover crap on GAC ..It's really a shame what's happening to country music...I could go on forever...I know times are changing but "God Bless Real Country Music"

I'll have more to say about this on the ACM topic, but Rory Lee Feek has "I miss country music" on his guitar.

I never heard of the man, but when I looked him up I discovered I really like his music. He's just not well known as a performer.

That's the worst thing any country artist can do, I do't know what he was thinking.

There are two particularly bad songs I hear if I'm going up and down the dial. One is about the little white church, and the other I was lucky enough to hear on a countdown show. Carrie Underwood's "Undo It".

And somewhere I heard "Fall on the Floor". Really, really bad.

I lost my classic country station last week and I'm concerned about the next best station. They seem to play a lot of junk even though they lean classic.

What Country stations played the Nelly with Tim McGraw CHR Hip-Hop hit "Over and Over" besides none? Did you know that Kenny Rogers was singing a re-worked "The Gambler" on a Wyclef Jean (from The Fugees) track on a Wyclef CD? Kenny is there live with him as it starts out with talk between the two and when Kenny sings, he changes the words to fit the content of the Wyclef Jean song. Kenny sings about turntables.
It's entertaining and Kenny sounds like he's having the time of his life. Pharoahe Monch is also referenced, and is there too.

Johnny Cash and Bob Dylan? Sounds ok. They both had an affinity for being part of the off-the-beaten-track. They both did acooustic guitar music, one Country, one folk.

Certain songs just sound formulaic to me and really seem to get airplay just because of the stature of the artist. The 2 most recent by Billy Currington come to mind: "That's How Country Boys Roll" and "Pretty Good At Drinkin' Beer." These 2 are below average lyrically and in Billy's performance, in my opinion. They're just there. Neither has the heft or appeal of Billy's better material like "People Are Crazy" or the excellent "Good Directions."

Alan Jackson's "I Still Like Bologna" was a disaster. Insipid lyrics and a forgettable melody. Fortunately, it didn't chart too high. I don't know how he can choose to record a song so unremarkable after having produced treasures like "Small Town Southern Man" and "Love's Got a Hold on You." Now, the new album, "Freight Train" is full of wonderful songs which I hope will be promoted as singles, notably "Tail Lights Blue" and "The Best Keeps Getting Better."

I can't remember now what it was. There is one song that I keep hearing and I thought I'd remember lyrics.

Let's see, have I mentioned the little white church? I think so.

Well, I don't care for Little Big Town to begin with.

"Crazy Town" by Jason Aldean is another one I don't like.

Neither of these are among "the worst", but I don't care for them.

Sugarland-Stuck Like Glue

The reason why is because that it sounds like country and hip hop/CHR mixed together.

"Whoa-oh, whoa-oh" isn't getting to me.

I was going to post this. I couldn't believe anything on country radio sounded this bad.
