Fort Wayne WOWO to Make Major announcment

I guess at the very least, 92.3 can help fill in the coverage gaps west (and east?) of Fort Wayne when it comes to 1190's night pattern ... in addition to FM's inherent audio advantages over AM. But with only 2,200 watts, I can't see it adding much. More than a 75-watt translator, but that isn't saying much.
Before I got remote work and commuted to Cincinnati during the week, I received 92.3 until I entered St. Marys, OH. Even these class As can pack a punch up here over flat land with nothing but corn and soybean fields to roll across. Of all of them, 92.3 was particularly strong.

Sounds about right. That is my mother's hometown, coincidentally enough, and she was a loyal WOWO listener as a teenager in the 60s. The 92.1 in Lima does hurt Fort Wayne's 92.3 in that area but it's audible.
103.1 never made it that far when it was WOWO's FM outlet. I remember trying for it when we were visiting St. Marys and 1190 would have Komets games.

A better use of 92.3. Who needs another classic rock (uh, hum…..classic hits) station?

(Indiana is big on their classic hits stations that really flirt with classic rock.)

Interesting ! Before Fort Wayne signed on it was mostly WCOL with Bloomington IN occasionally

Same as when it was WHUZ. No real signal in the Celina-Sr. Marys area

I have received WTTS/Bloomington in Warsaw consistently.
The switch-off for me coming up 69 from Indy occurs around the Fairmount exit. Meanwhile, I can’t get 101.7 until I practically get to Allen County. 101.7 also fades west of Kendallville very fast and doesn’t hold up to St Marys.

Classic Hits/Oldies is covered pretty well in northern Indiana.

101.7 WLDE- Fort Wayne
103.9 Wayne FM - Fort Wayne
101.1,104.3,1450AM WIOE
100.3 WLKI - Angola
105.9 The Bash - Wabash
94.3 95.5 1140 Kville - Auburn

So I could see why 92.3 flipped to News/Talk. I don’t know what the Fort Wayne market could use as an another format hole.

You forgot a big one - WRSW 107.3 in Warsaw. IMHO, I can’t quite call 103.9 or 100.3 classic hits. Sort of, but not full fledged.
