This area is so rich in American History dating to the pre revolution. Fricks Lock was a really neat place as a kid. Used to ship furniture, coal and farm goods to Philadephia, then to the South beginning in the 1820's. My Uncle lived in Congo, a Pennsylvania Dutch settlement. They're just small, unincorporated named communities that are parts of larger townships. These are prized areas to the people of the locale. Don't mock them, no more than Cold Spring Village or the alleged "Historic" Village of Smithville, put together by ABC Television in the late 70's. NINETEEN seventy's.
