WPHT HD During Phillies Games

The play by play was 25 seconds behind. It was completely unlistenable. I emailed the station when I got home (a Clear Channel station, of course). They sent back a reply which said basically they were afraid that one of their announcers would say the "f word." The crowd noise mic was potted down so far that even if somebody walked by the booth and said it, you couldn't hear it. Really dumb.
Well if the pod was that far down, why air it 25 seconds behind? the play by play dude knows the rules for the FCC by now, i'm sure.

From their response, the delay was at the station and not at the booth. I also got the impression that a computer was running the station and this was a CYA move by management.

What is a "Pod"? Do you mean "Pot"?
"Pot" is short for potentiometer (from back in the day when an audio mixer/console had rotary potentiometers), while "Pod" is a sci-fi term I think... ???
"Pots" were replaced by slide "Pots" now commonly called "Faders" ;)
Sorry for razzing you, but I had to laugh at the terminology. ;D

Sorry for typo. Not for the use of the word "pots" as in "pot down."

Do you ever say "dial a phone" or "radio dial?" Do you ever talk about "taping" something, or even "filming" something?

All of the above, all the time, I "dial the phone" "tape" a show etc...
I am old... ;D

Seriously I did get a good chuckle out of the term as I'd heard it used by new-comers frequently and always found it humorous.
I did not mean to offend or belittle your post. If my comment was perceived that way, you have my sincerest apologies.
