WPTF mornings

SMSA....i was taught: Standard Metropolitan Statistical Area.
Raleigh = all of Wake county + just about everything else
to the East within a 34 mile limit + everything North
to Oxford + South to Sanford's city limits + West to
the county or RTP's line. the New Census will include
Durham/Chapel Hill/RTP with Raleigh.

Ratings, however, are measured in Arbitron defined markets that do not necessarily (seldom do) coincide with the SMSA. Counties can be added by petition of a number of broadcasters within a metro. Markets grow in two ways - people moving into an existing area and by adding area to the metro - just examine Charlotte's growth to a top 25 market

I have to say, the new morning news on PTF is a refreshing change. Fitzgerald has a sense of humor, Taylor Zaarser sounds more alive, and the new morning anchor Patrick Johnson has a great set of pipes. Overall I would say they have brought the show into the new millenium.

Best thing is they aren't just beating up on demmycrats and mexicans anymore...not that they might not deserve it from time to time, but the variety in topics is a nice change.

Way to go Curtis Media!

Agree, disagree, care?

care? sorta. what happened to that Boston (or from Boston) guy?
what happened to Kevin whatever?
WPTF spends lots of airtime giving details about the announcers
when they are new (where from/why/family/history), but when
they leave.....zip. that's one reason why i "sorta" care.

News about 'that Boston guy' has been around.
That Miller guy's news has been around too.
You just gotta care enough to pay attention. ;)
