Writers Strike 2023?

If Something Isn't done by 12/31, then we will await a war against the robots

and sag-aftra isn't toast after all

Well SAG-AFTRA and the studios met today, and this was the result:

Meanwhile as far as speculation for the rest of the TV season goes….

2023-24 Episode Count & Production Start Plans Tweaked For Series Like ‘Grey’s Anatomy’, ‘CSI: Vegas’ & Wolf Entertainment Dramas As Strike Goes On

If the strike ever ends, Deadline reports at this point most shows will have 10-13 episodes max this season, airing between mid-February/early March to end of May.

If They Do, Then The Strikes Will Be Over and Everyone will be happy again ;3

If They Don't, Then they can keep trying and the AMPTP will respond Sooner or Later D:

I hear…I hear…I hear…..

What an eye roll inducing bit of prose that “article” is.

Not exactly The Atlantic or ProPublica material is it? 🤣 I wouldn’t be surprised if the author is a user on this very form.

And just as expected, the chest puffing is done.

I’d say the chest puffing worked as SAG-AFTRA did get what they wanted and finally forced AMTP’s hand. AMPTP kept making this same mistake with the stalling. SAG has had a few blunders along the way (the Halloween costume thing) but nothing like the studios' unforced errors.

It looks like on Friday, the details of the agreement will be revealed, so it will be interesting to see how much give and take there may have been. At least those actors who have acting jobs can go back to work tomorrow.
