Siegel's a bit on the dry side, but does a nice job. Much more listenable than the Dr. Laura of the personal finance world.
I would think "giving to the church"
Ramsey is having a rough month...he just lost WPHT in Philly too.
Funny he's on here in Phoenix 1215-2pm and they boast about having 600 stations nationwide.
Just heard promo--
RKO to do local talk with Mike Siegel 10p-1 a starting around July 30
But he has lost three large market stations in the last year or so, Boston and Philadelphia recently, and in 2017, NYC, when WOR dropped him.
I wonder if it's geographical. Maybe his approach is seen as mainly a southern thing that doesn't appeal to northerners.
There may some truth to this, but I tend to think you are seeing more of a generational listenership change. Dave is nearly 60 years old.
(And for the record - I am surprised that he has lasted this long with the "same old advice."
Had there been enough Siegel fans out there, maybe RKO would have kept him in PM Drive but they opted to bring back Howie.RKO though does think enough of him to give him a reg. slot.
The late night slot that used to have VB's Pleasure Pit with Doug Goudie.Kudos for doing local
Good but again when March of 2015 rolled around RKO didn't say, "Well, we could bring Howie back but Siegel's doing a great show..."
The ratings and perhaps earnings went down.Maybe Mike does well but for PM Drive RKO decided to bring back Howie.

That's because Howie appeals to a ahem, "different" audience, Siegel is more of an intellectual and if you listen to Howie you can see some of his callers aren't exactly on top of things....I don't have anything against Howie - I "heard" he approached RKO and asked for his job back - Siegel is a different animal, he appeals to a different audience and I agree, the ratings probably did go down because Howie's old audience didn't know what to make of Siegel....I hope he can somehow find a way to move into morning drive, the clowns in that slot are just the worst.....I don't listen to them but I've seen others post on FB how horrible they are...I'd rather listen to pigs squeal than those two!
>>That's because Howie appeals to a ahem, "different" audience
And, once more with feeling. What different audience is that?
Blue collar? Poorly educated? Deplorable?
