WRKO Replaces Rush

they started his show at 12:06pm then at about 1230 or so they did a news brief from the rush radio 1200 news center or something like that...

How long before it's the "Rush Radio 1200 (insert sponsor here) News Center" - that is, if it's not already...

The 1200 lineup for mornings on weekends is still up in the air AFAIK and I wonder if they could put some
other Premiere hosts on... they could offer the likes of... Bob and Tom ("optional Saturday edition"--maybe a rerun)...

I like the way you think out of the box sometimes, but an FM-type show on an AM signal? That might not fly in most markets. Ask Clear Channel how "Rick & Bubba" fared in Nashville on their AM stick there, WLAC.

Same guy is on now at 1 pm...local headlines, a (sponsored) traffic report (as in, a car dealer is right in
the name of the report)...forecast...and now the stories. George Brown

I didn't hear the news but I wonder if this is the same George Brown that was shown the door by Clear Channel Worcester. He was at WTAG-AM for quite a run starting out in afternoon drive when WTAG was still playing music ending his career as the Program Director. If it is the same guy, great news for George. He is one of the good guys in the business.

And I have to wonder why WXKS didn't have George Brown as the local host in morning drive. He did the morning show for well over a year between the time Hank Stolz left the station for cross town rival WCRN-AM and Clear Channel's hiring of the current a.m. drive host, Jim Polito.

New slogan-"Now Less Hate on The Big 68." ;D

Nice thought, but with the new station it's more like SPREADING the Hate. And now Limbaugh is promising to move to Costa Rica if the healthcare bill passses. Great news for us, bad news for Costa Rica. Go, Healthcare bill!!

Those open slots weekend mornings are being filled on 1200...with encores of Rush, Beck, and Hannity.
And the immortal "Paid Programming", 5-7 am
