WRKZ 99.7 Rock Town Hall Meeting

Whatever happens, I don't think they will have a new local morning talk show on 99.7 and don't think Bob and Tom will stay there. Dropping The Rock
for The Blitz is a given. That said, will they buy back the old call letters?

I think someones already got them, so they probably won't be able to get them back.

The key part of that statement was "buy". I doubt it, as there are some other WBZ* calls available. WBLZ or WBZR for example, for Blitz Rock.

One of the most telling facts about this all being mostly a charade is that the discussion is on a THURSDAY (start of diary week) at 3, one of the prime times to try to draw some listener attention and diary mentions.

Just noticed that, the reveal party they are having happens on a Thursday starting at 3:00pm. They are definatly trying to get big ratings out of this whole thing.

100% by the book.  "Big announcements," whether re a concert, contest, format direction, whatever, have almost always been Thursday at 3:00.  Whether or not any listener input is ultimately taken into account is a minor sidelight.  Oh, and that celebration concert?  Also TOO by-the-book.  This whole thing is a calculated stunt intended to try to goose listening and milk the name-change (back to the Blitz).  It's actually even more unimaginative than I would have expected.
