WRMF for sale for a mear $16.5 million

so i guess if foley buys it south florida will have its first fm talker? and oh god i hope not not i love wrmf the way it is

Just what the West Palm Beach market needs: A conservative FM talker...yawn. I did not realize Mark Foley, especially with all of his legal troubles, had access to the kind of capital required to buy an FM radio station. WRMF has seen better days. It is boring, repetitive, and its jocks are hardly allowed to talk. With that said, I'd prefer it as is to a conservative FM talker.

You can bet if Hilliard gets it back, he will do something silly with it, too.
WFTL-FM! LOL

Oh my god. LMAO. This is a classic burn. Let's raise a toast Fljack2, you are the master my friend. The master.

Key Biscayne is the farthest south that WRMF comes in with real consistency. It can definitely be picked up in Homestead and at times, Key Largo, but the signal is very shaky south of Key Biscayne.

No way. If JCR bought the station (back) for a fraction of what they sold it for in the first place, they KNOW WRMF would be their cash cow (again). Remember the reason they sold WRMF in the first place - AND who they have back on their payroll in the office....

as long as James Crystal didn't get it, the station has a chance of winning again. (Then again, Hilliard did get $70 million for it, so I guess he was the winner in this.)

Anybody know anything about Goodman?

What will they do with the station?
What would you do with it?

I am unfamiliar with local station management, so I am unable to make an informed opinion regarding what direction, if any, should be taken in the GM's office. I will, however, say a completely refocused local morning program is imperative. Formatically, Hot Adult Contemporary is on target and should remain in place as the current AC programming is already established, and has been for years, on WRMF.

A new aggressive focus should be implemented in the local sales department, complete with ongoing sales training for each sales staff member from the DOS all the way down to the newly hired rookie account executive, assuming this is not already being implemented. Sales is definately down in camparison to where it should be, and this is an area that needs immediate attention, otherwise Dean Goodman would not have gotten such a sweet deal on the acquisition price.

I'm sure all departments will soon be reviewed under the metaphoric microscope to determine the best immediate direction to take to improve the overall bottom line resulting in a new and improved WRMF.

Mark, in a perfect world you'd be correct. But this is the West Palm-Boca market we're talking about here. Why break with tradition by doing something that makes sense?
