WRNN- Now Airing Law & Order

Well, the traditional newscasts are now completely gone from RNN. I think it is time to find a new moniker unless RNN stands for Really No News.

Richard (French)'s Nonsense Network...

Here in Philly, I just started receiving WTVE-DT in OTA reception, as the station must have increased power. It now reaches the Philly suburbs proper and I bet will have to be added to the local Comcast and Verizon Fios lineups via must-carry.

Did you know that WTVE's transmitter has been moved to the Roxboro Antenna Farm? That's why you are receiving it...

WTVE didn't move, they built a DTS. They run 8 transmitters (including one at Roxboro) which allows for them to cover their whole coverage area without so many terrain blockage issues.

DTS = Distributed Transmission System, for those of you not yet familiar with the acronym. :)

I just noticed in my guide today that RNN is now airing the old sitcom 'Cheers' weeknights at 6:30pm. So odd that they have these random shows in between infomercials.

Some times simply don't sell, so rather than beat a dead horse, economy what it is, yada... I'm sure they'd rather air shows they have to use-or-lose, since its already money out the door.

Maybe they'll revert back to the old WTZA, Channel 62, days back in the 80's with syndicated programming plus local news. The station was pretty cool when they did that.

Yep! I missed the good old WTZA back in the 90's when I was at Anderson School at the time during 1993-95. I hope the station will change its call letters from WRNN back to WTZA and call it WTZA-DT.

Does this replace a half-hour of local programming? I wonder if "Richard French Live" has been cut back to a half-hour yet...

Update: Apparently, WRNN is now not airing "Law & Order."

Their new nightly lineup, is as follows:

5 PM Cheers
5:30 PM Inside Edition
6 PM Real Politics Live
6:30 PM Cheers
7 PM Richard French Live
7:30 PM Inside Edition

And then... the paid programming resumes at 8 PM. That's the hour in which "Law & Order" used to air. And, to answer my own question on the most recent post, French's show has been running on a half-hour format for quite some time.

It's amazing how just a couple of years ago, RNN seemed to give the impression that it was a news operation with a lot of promise, with newscasts not only geared toward the Hudson Valley, where the station is based, but Long Island, as well (most likely to throw FIOS customers a bone.) Now, they don't even serve the public interest most of the time - unless by "public interest," it means seeing Sam Malone work his pimp hand on the female patrons at Cheers.
