EVERYONE you saw, I tried to bury the hatchet, I offered a truce, an olive branch to this nobody. My thought is that he probably cant stop himself from posting negative things about people, it's all part of his mental problem however i did give him an out. JOe make no mistakje, i am mor ethan happy to make fun of your lack of a career, and your complete lack of any signifigant position in the music community, ad infinitum!. Harvey Warfield's career advice is something I think i can do without Joe, thanks, that's like a toll collector advising the ceo of Jaguar about their cars based on his vast experience working in the automotive industry. It's like a cable access host who thinks he's even in the same league as anyone on commercial radio in a major market. Remember Joe, ANYONE can have a cable access show, hence the term "access", if you can sign your name you can be on cable access TV, it does not require any skill, or knowledge, it only requires that you show up, anyone can do it............ Very few people would brag about having acareer where they do not make any money from their work in cable access or blogging, you remind me of the old joke about the guy walking behind the elephants in the circus parade who sweeps up their poop. When asked why he doesnt quit his job he replies "what? and leave show business"?...... That's you Joe, the media equal of the man who shovels the elephant poop in the circus parade because he thinks he's in show biz. You and Parenteau should get together and compare stories now that he's out. Im sure you two have a great deal in common. ;D

So, I've been reading this board for a couple of weeks now and the best I can figure out is: it's a bunch of guys that used to be in Boston radio and a bunch of guys that wish they were in Boston radio, is that about it, 'cuase it's getting pretty stale?

LOL Essentially yes, and you're right, it has become very stale. I tried to squash it but he wouldn't agree so the tedium continues.

I have been reading these pages over the past few weeks and would like to add my comments. First off, I do not work in radio (anymore) I was never in the Boston market but I did work in smaller to medium stations in the state. It appears to me that *most* of the feuding is going on between only two people (for the most part.) Trashing former radio staples accomplishes nothing. Ken Shelton, Harvey Warfield, Mark Parenteau, and a host of others that are being brought up here had their glory days in the business. Now for whatever reason they are no longer a fixture in Boston radio. They were once good at what they did but their time has passed. To quote Nick on his first day taking over the afternoons on WBCN many years ago (don’t know why I remember the comment since I can’t remember what was for lunch yesterday I just do.) “The big three are gone” Let them be. Parenteau was caught convicted and served time (not enough IMO), but he was once a great Boston jock (personal life aside)OK now I’ll get back on track. Here are my thoughts suggestions to move on.Nik. Ignore Joe. You don’t like him that is obvious. Do not encourage him. When you respond you sink to a low level. If you don’t feed the fire it will burn out. If you do feel the need to correct him do so with out the name calling. You are a professional, just state the facts as you know them.Joe. Don’t post your opinion as fact. If you have evidence to back your claim share it. Stop wasting your time slamming Nik. Despite the fact you don’t like him he WAS a large part of the WBCN success. Images change and so to the directions station management wants to take their investment. It does not necessarily mean the person in question cant’ do it. You have posted many times about your “success” enough we get it.I’ve know people that have been fired from some of the best stations in the country, like WBCN, WNEW and others. Sometimes just because of personality conflicts with management.Take this however you want. You want to trash me for it, go ahead. I will not respond to it, but if it makes you feel better go ahead. Now back to the WKRP Helicopter ;D

You are correct sir on all counts. I thank you for your sage counsel. Also I do not remember ever saying "the big three are gone" but if you say I did Ill take your word for it as you seem to have integrity. I DO remember breaking format my first day on air in afternoon drive to play "Rockin in a free world" by Neil Young and DEDICATING IT to Parenteau, my first break, and my first song. Thank you for your suggestions Mr. Nessman.PS"as god is my witness..........I swear thought turkey's could fly..."LOL 8)
