WRUM #1 6+

Rumba comes out on top for Dec 2010 with a 7.6 in the 6 + numbers.

I understand that these numbers are not use for sales but with their competition at # 17, this must be the biggest fail in recent history.

WNUE changed format mid-book based on the results for the first three PPM books, so WRUM obviously picked up a lot of the listeners they had. WNUE and WRUM had essentially the same format, but now WNUE has an "adult hits" oldies based format.

Is Rumba 100.3 the only "Rumba" station that does well? Rumba 1200 Boston never did too well, nor is Rumba 1480 Philly.

Rumba is just a name, not a format. The other two are AM stations, and AM does even worse with Hispanics now than it does in English. Plus, neither Boton nor Philly have anywhere near the Hispanic population percentAge of Orlando .

There's still a bit of an overlap with the music. Besides, they are competing for the same ad dollars for the most part.

This market looks more and more like South Florida every book.

I lived in the market from '92-95 and 102 JAMZ was dominant then. Strange how they have fallen so far behind XL, Power, and Star.

IMHO 102 JAMZ was also a much better station back in the day.
