WSB has thrown in the towel as muckraker; they're just GOP talking-point pets now. And Atlanta, thje city, is rotting to the core because there's no longer any press of relevant size raising proper hell at the Chicago-like sewer it's becoming.

WSB is way better in the morning compared to All News.

SaharaCez said:Along those lines, it's become d@mned obvious that WSB no longer has any interest as acting like a LOCAL radio station. As the region's local governments have become more and more corrupt (especially Atlanta City and Fulton County) -- and we know it's happening because at least a few of the smaller local papers provide some level of written coverage -- the locally-based talkers on WSB are DEAD SILENT about what's happening in the backyard. The best one gets is soon-to-be-Imam Allen Hunt spending three hours on how it's God's blessing and Scripturally proper that the Falcons get a new stadium, or Mark Arum exploring local junk food (whi ch I admit, *is* interesting...but I digress). Gone are the days Boortz would routinely, SAVAGELY TEAR into Bill Campbell or Shirley Franklin, let alone having an out-of-towner like Chris Kroc come in, learn the politically wart-filled landscape lightning fast like some Jeb Stewart-like raiding party of the airwaves, and shake every political pubah's tree until they're dropping rotten fruit everywhere (and having their pet pals in the small "church" papers writing screeds condemning the "racist" Kroc and/or WSB). Anyhow, the state of Atlanta talk is PATHETIC PATHETIC PATCHETIC. The one man who COULD HAVE made a difference during the critical morning hours -- Herman Cain -- is so disinterested in Atlanta politics and corruption that he may as well be broadcasting his bedtime stories from from his old gigs at Burger King headquarters in Miami, or the Kansas City Federal Reserve. While Boortz may have been good for WSB the city of ATL was rotten while Boortz was on the air. Boortz was good for WSB and good for Boortz.

Herman Cain is just awful, Erick Erickson comes across as being full of himself, and Hannity and Limbaugh are both passe'. Cut out the syndicated talkers and find people who can hook listeners with intelligent local talk.
SaharaCez said:While agree that conservative talkers get significantly better ratings than liberal talkers, the nationally syndicated "conservative" (translation: GOP talking points) talkers can be streamed from anywhere on iheartradio or tunein. Like KFI, WSB should reinvest in LOCALLY based conservative -- or better yet, energetic libertarian -- talent than the predictably scripted nursing home they're running now.

One reason I quit listening to Clark a while back is the whole hodgepodge of content, featuring a lot of repetition, both in terms of topic and the actual recorded show. I wonder how much the Internet has hurt his show over the years...much of what he covers can be picked up online.nightmanager said:WSB had been using Clark Howard pretapes, reruns, half a show live, half tape, etc mix and match in the afternoons for a long time. I don't know of any other major syndicated talker who was mix and match live and tape as much as Clark's show had been doing.
Whole afternoons live had already become relatively rare even before he went to evenings, to the point where it made no big difference. The only thing that changed was WSB could stop basically pretending it was a live show.

Why? Cox's man crush on V-103 isn't THAT bad....?SaharaCez said:If an inanimate object could be put on suicide watch, WSB would be a prime candidate.
