Kudos to them.
But in defense of a lot of folks, by 10:00p, the story was essentially over. The storm in downtown and a majority of the burbs was essentially over. Most closing decisions had been made by 5:00 or 6:00, so there was pretty much nothing to report with the exception of road closures. In an area with a larger population, there would still be an appreciable audience on a Friday night at 10p. But here, most folks were already home and the TV was on.
I can understand WOMG being off the air. A power blurp downtown sometime before 10p took us to battery backup but the switchover for some reason never happened. WOMG must have had a power issue as well. At 11:00 on my drive back downtown to fix it, there was almost nobody on the roads at all. And for the most part, the Interstates were not bad (bridges and overpasses excepted). Secondary streets remained easily passable, as long as you weren't inexperienced or an idiot, or both.
