Again it really doesn't matter who I am or the depth of my experience or success or lack thereof. Remember, many good baseball managers were pretty mediocre when at bat or on the mound.
I could be anyone from Rush Limbaugh to some talk radio junkie sitting in my underwear typing on a computer in my mother's basement. If my thoughts are correct about any of what I have shared, then I'm correct despite who I am. And as for anonymous, how many people know Chuck by his real identity? Should we concerned with a host who is in essence anonymous?
Yes, being on a daytime only station with a niche format could have it's challenges. But you're also very good at using in topics that can light up the phones. You also have a very effective "appeal from the pulpit" presentation. I've used it myself with effective results. Chuck has a great radio voice but hasn't developed that appeal to get someone to pick up the handset and make the call.
And if I recall, your on air hour was more in alignment with the hours I suggested would work best for Chuck.
My guess is if Chuck were on the other side of the political fence, this conversation could have a taken very different course and become one that it's proof that it is destined to fail and the results are in.
As for the other station dropping like a rock, it's been a very similar event in most other markets. Many talk radio stations are losing steam. And for many reasons.
I think Chuck does a pretty decent job on the air. But, I was quite surprised and dismayed when Chuck had Representative Stinziano on a few weeks ago and the phones remained cold.
My guess is his success would be bolstered by inclusion in the daily lineup and better Saturday hours. To what degree? That's between him and his audience.
