Donna Halper was mentioning on boston-radio-interest that talk radio listeners are almost 70 in median age and mostly conservative, white, male. She said ad money was drying up, and the Fluke controversy (Rush) didn't help and that sports talk is drawing bigger, younger, audiences and we have more than enough of that in this town.
And now, even though 1510 supposedly will have SOME sports, we'll be left with 93.7, 98.5, and the ESPN stuff on 850.
The Herald seems to still think 1510 runs the Sox in Spanish (apparently not, with the flagship, 1490, being way up in Haverhill). One of the new shows, Mohr, is sports I think and they'll still have some college sports, but the Yahoo shows and local stuff (Bawstin Diehards being based here, but also on sat. radio) may be going away..or maybe not. That's the info
we're waiting to hear now.
