WVKO 1580 amazing

EMF is probably looking over the 103.1 frequency.

More here:

"EMF Broadcasting will soon expand its Christian AC “K-Love” to Youngstown, OH."

Not sure on that.. EMF likes signals that actually cover more than cows, corn and sheep. I don't know if 103.1 will fit into what their doing since it rim-shots Columbus..

Bernard's signal in Youngstown actually covers the market.. I am surprised that EMF didn't pick it up sooner.. (Bernard's signals have been for sale since day #1)

Listened to WVKO-AM today and they said they were off the air for a couple of hours. They said the outage was due an outage of their "service provider".

Are they sill getting their show off the internet? ??? If so, that may explain the outage.

I heard AT&T UVerse Internet was out today in parts of Columbus for a few hours.. I am guessing they use a Uverse DSL connection to get audio from their studio east of downtown to transmitter off Morse Rd.

WVKO 1580 is now calling itself "The new Megapower" on the air. I believe this is directed to
WTVN radio but I'm not sure. Any ideas? The old progressive talkWVKO 1580 used to take a few shots at WTVN a few years ago.

WVKO 1580 is now proudly advertising their new van on the air. A photo is here:

Since WVKO-AM has been off almost a day now, I sure hope they will post on their webpage and or Facebook page when they expect to be back the the air with Progressive Talk. Four years ago, when Hurricane Ike hit, they where off the air for 3-4 days. I like the local WVKO-AM shows on the weekend and especially the "Vinyl Vault" with Tin Morris.

For once I won't give Gary crap about being off air :p ;)

My guess is power is likely out at both the transmitter site on Morse Rd and at the studios... I didn't scan the AM band to see who was broadcasting dead air.

They have an Open Carrier on 1580 so they apparently they have power at the WVKO-AM tower site.
Must have lost power at the WVKO-AM studios. They share studios with WCRS-LP 102.1 and
WCRS-LP is of the air. Maybe we will get a report from Jake on the status of WCRS-LP?

I did not know they shared studios.. I thought WVKO new studios were in the Lincoln District Area east of downtown.

I don't know how soon WCRS will be back on the air, but I do know that we're based at the Carriage House at 1021 E. Broad St., which is where I understand the WVKO studios are also located.

oh wow Jake.. I didn't know that CRS moved.. I thought you all were in Clintonville.

At 12:00 Noon today, WVKO started airing the the Dial Global test tone and transponder loop. So, maybe WVKO-AM and WCRS-LP have power back at their studios?
