John:To answer your question about WVLT for dead air on Nov.23 & 24,there was problems with the feed coming into the station from oldies satellite Jones network.Whether it was a case with it being internal,it probably was.Headphones doing my show on WVLT was going in & out that night. As for Matt's 80's show being more promoted, his show is a by-product of the hours he puts in when he board-op the previous shows before he comes on.As for more 80's being added into the rotation,it's a fact of life that we all said that when 70's were intoduced in the late 90's.It's just a natural progression that most oldies stations do to attract younger audiences.Whether it works is a different story. Finally, brokered shows pay for their time, there are some Jones spots that run every hour because of their contract with Jones to use the satellite service. Finally,Sally has a show on Thursdays for an hour.As for ratings, they post in the AC & Wilmington markets, but not very high(anywhere from a 0.2-0.6).Anything less than a point usually doesn't get a reading except as "others".Arbitron does not include Cumberland County in it's ratings & WVLT is not rated by Arbitron.
