I can't believe they play Real McCoy on B98.5! The same station who didn't even know who Stevie B was!
None of our "lite rock" stations here in Az. play anything by Real McCoy.
We have 99.9 which is Adult AC (hears their top 10)
1 Im Yours
Jason Mraz
2 Love Story
Taylor Swift STRIPPED
3 Better In Time
Leona Lewis STRIPPED
4 Viva La Vida
Coldplay
5 What About Now
Daughtry
6 Pocketful of Sunshine
Natasha Bedingfield
7 Crush
David Archuleta
8 Love Remains The Same
Gavin Rossdale STRIPPED
9 Where I Stood
Missy Higgins
10 One Step At A Time
Jordin Sparks
Wow - I just discovered something myself.... but here's the playlist:
http://www.kez999.com/iplaylist/playlist.html Lionel Richie was currently playing..
AND THEN, WE HAVE 98.7 The Peak (which used to be K-Lite 98.7 FM)
And NOBODY (that I know of in Phoenix) Beats their "never repeat a song in a day" light rock playlist.
Still no Real McCoy (I tried to request it once, but no. They don't want Real McCoy, Amber, No Mercy, etc...)
But they play a lot of stuff! I guess they call themselves variety hits, but it all seems to sound related to lite rock and alternative in a way;
...well, it's best that I just post a link to all these hits they play -

They even play "oh Sheila" by Ready For The World, which is CLEARLY not an Atlanta thing at all.
It's like Mix 96.9 on STEROIDS! 96.9 is similar to what Star*94 would be if they kept some of their hits from 1994 or 1993 (and even before) or so through today, all together. The only reason I care for Mix 96.9 and 98.7 The Peak is because I grew up with a lot of this on Star*94 from 1993 - 1997.
We used to have some good alternative stations, but.... now I'll just say we have a lot of good spanish stations. The country stations have the strongest signals, we lost out Spanish Top 40, but the Latin rhythm is still around, seemingly becoming less bilingual and becoming more on the spanish side.
If you want to hear Nickelback, then 98.7 or 96.9 or the alternative station is the way to go. Nickelback is not top 40 here. Actually, here's what top 40 is in Az, from the station WHO SHOULD HAVE KEPT the "Arizona's #1 Hit music station" slogan to begin with:

Craig David is oddly, but surely on there, and even beat Madcon! There seems to be a couple of Pitbull songs missing however because no top 40 or rhythmic in Az doesn't at least seemingly play about 5 or 8 Pitbull songs or more... As a matter of fact, Pitbull is playing NOW on Power 98.3! Danity Kane "damaged" is still hanging in there on most stations... C-Side is still being played on KZON.
