Kadie Daye Departs WYRK’s Clay & Company
After three years as part of the "Clay & Company" morning show on Townsquare Media Country 106.5 WYRK Buffalo NY,radioinsight.com
As we've been saying, 4th quarter sales for all radio companies have been well below expectations. iHeart, Cumulus, Townsquare, and Bonneville are all cutting staff as a result.
Then again, radio management at the highest levels does really seem to be looking at the long-term health of the industry.
Some companies use the "Last Fired - First Fired" policy when making staff cuts. It's safe to assume that she wasn't making anything close to the main hosts salary. Corporate could have dropped him unless they left it up to local management on who had to go...I'm hearing about 5% cuts across the board at Townsquare. I guess she was the only staffer than fit that target. Too bad. Young people interested in radio, and good at it, are in short supply. Then again, radio management at the highest levels does really seem to be looking at the long-term health of the industry.

In any event, most stations don't have air staff they can cut. That was done long ago...
