A small group owner from Toccoa, GA somehow moved his station from Toccoa and then sold it.Yes, that's what they say.

It was 1370 WGHC Clayton, GA. This move to Mount Holly facilitated Clayton GA radio owner Art Sutton to apply for 1400 in Clayton to provide 24-hr service -1370 was a daytimer as is 870 Mount Holly.I'm trying to remember. Wasn't this 870 (not WGTL of course) moved down from way up the dial and far away, like GA or something?
Is the 930 site located on Hood Rd. at the old Channel 36 TV site? Or is that a different location? And does 103.7 share the same tower as 930 or is it now separate? I know they are not on the same tower as Channel 9 anymore.I understand the 930 site is 50 acres. I bet it is worth a ton.

on a side note, it’s easy for me to say i’ll miss a radio station (as i did with the former “Mix” CHR format earlier this month) but regardless of what happens to WZGV, i’ll especially be missing WZGV for how i remember them being one of the few radio stations i remember scanning around on a early 2000s indigo Emerson boombox in 2018 as my first year of getting into the fascination of radio (this was back when they were “730 The Game” for ESPN)
The old WSOC AM and WZGV are located on Tar Heel Rd. 930 is a three tower directional. 730 is diplexed on one of the three towers. Is the 930 site located on Hood Rd. at the old Channel 36 TV site? But in terms of the real estate, apparently the Hood Rd. area is a hot commodity for a proposed data center, which is controversial and now on hold.
That map doesn't show it but it's somewhere northwest of the city like WGFY and the old WFNZ.The old WSOC AM and WZGV are located on Tar Heel Rd. 930 is a three tower directional. 730 is diplexed on one of the three towers.

I was about to post the same image. Streetview offers no clear shot as the site is fully surrounded by trees.
Yes, let me add WSOC-FM and WKQC are on the old channel 36 tower on Hood Road. Sure hope they have a long term lease. That’s a prime spot for housing development. That’s also where American Tower wants to install a data center. If they don’t get their way maybe the 1,000 foot tower could go away? The old WSOC AM and WZGV are located on Tar Heel Rd. 930 is a three tower directional. 730 is diplexed on one of the three towers.

Still can't see where in Charlotte that is. But I remember seeing it on a USGS map.

(just relaying my question again from what i made earlier today, if anyone has any insight)so someone fill me in here, but as far as what’s going to happen tomorrow, i’m jumbled over some sources (or at least my interpretation of them) saying either: the plan that WZGV will cease operations + the plan for WZGV going temporarily silent as they find another tower site via a FCC filling. will WZGV go away all together, or will they be only be temporarily off air/silent for around 6 months as they find a new tower spot?
After the first 6 months, WZGV can apply for another STA which will expire 6 months thereafter. If it's not back on the air after one year, the license is automatically cancelled. I'm just not sure (the same with all of us here) as to how aggressive WZGV will be in finding a new site. Selling the license is another option. Also - if their translator is eligible (per its license) - the feed station could be changed to an HD signal from one of the area HD FMs via a lease. Since "Mix" went away, "Praise" is now duplicated on WBT-FM's HD signal that was formerly occupied by "Mix" - I believe "Praise" was also available on WOSF's HD.i don't think it's been known on when exactly tomorrow (6/17) will WZGV/W248CO go out, but i'll listen in by around midnight, if not most of the day just in case 🔍

The station lost its transmitter site. It CANNOT OPERATE without one... The station as a whole is going away, not just the Game brand...Why not bring Z-730 back to 730 if The Game is going away- classic hits or oldies! (It was classic hits for a while in 2010 when they first moved the 730 transmitter closer to Charlotte from Shelby),
