WZMY TV SHUTTING DOWN 12-31-2010

"Carlisle One Media" is the entity headed by the aforementioned Bill Binnie.

What does Bill Binnie know about the NH TV market that Thomas Flatley and Diane Sutter didn't? I hope this isn't another expensive ego trip like his failed US Senate campaign (the proposed call letter change to WBIN tends to confirm my suspicion.) Binnie's overpaying for LPTV licenses isn't particularly encouraging, suggesting that he either doesn't have very good advisors regarding this venture or isn't listening to them. The shadowy nature of his outfit that I mentioned in another thread back in January doesn't inspire confidence, either.

On a related subject, where does this leave New Age Media? Will the remainder of their management contract be bought out, or will Binnie's outfit honor the remaining two years? I certainly hope it's the latter, because if anyone knows how to run this kind of station it's Doug Finck.
