x101.5 tallahassee

Star 98.9 is the only HOT AC station in Tallahassee (part of cumulus radio) Speaking of Cumulus Media I was wonder who in Tallahassee will pick up CBS Sports Radio and who will pick it up? I know CBS Radio and Cumulus radio team up together to add CBS Sports Radio.

What will Tallahassee Radio stations will do in the year of 2013? As alot of new format are coming
(like i said about the CBS Sports Radio) I think WHBT AM-1410 will be the best place but there nighttime singal sucks. Its seems like WTAL-AM 1450 and WHBT-AM 1410 are doing gospel music on the AM dial.

97.9 ESPN Radio doing very well in Tallahassee. How much longer will 99.9 Hank-FM will stick around?

Cumulus took sports off of 1410 because the station is basically a daytimer. Daytimers and sports are not a good mix, especially if a game starts late in the day. I just don't see Cumulus taking 1410 for sports again. They have appzrently been able to improve the billing on the gospel format as well.

Their night power of 18 watts just does not get out. I'm just under 10 miles from the tower and can't pick it up..too much interference.

I am not sure Tallahassee will support three sports stations. But. I know there ARE folks who wish Clear Channel would not interrupt WFLA with baseball and basketball so much.

I think Hank, the general manager of HANK-FM, kind of likes that station. It has reasonable ratings.

Yeah your right Alan about WHBT-AM 1410 nightime singal wont work. The best sports station in town is 97.9 ESPN Radio. Maybe 99.9 Hank-FM can add alittle bit more music beside playing the same songs over and over every once in a while.

X-101.5 has been throwing a few classtic rock in the mix here and there. They been playing AC/DC and other classtic rock with the new rock station. I guess Tallahassee wants there classtic rock music back since GULF 104 flip to classtic hits.

Must be evolving towards Active Rock. Smart move.

I thought X-101.5 had effectively been an active rocker for several years.

I was going to respond that I thought it was common for some harder classic rock tunes to be included on an active rock playlist.

Am I wrong on both of those statements?

That's correct. And that's one reason you can classify this station as an active rocker. They can throw in some alternative tracks, but if they play AC/DC, Ozzy, etc, it's active.
