XM and Sirius Music Changes Next Week

There has to be more channels that those listed, the ones past 100 incl. Fox News, CNN,
the comedy channels, kids' networks, sports, etc... I'm sure many of the ones XM has
will remain but who knows.

Fred--good new wave stuff but "1st wave" name sounds like it could be similar
Outlaw Country--someone sent me tapes of it; they have Mojo Nixon doing a show

For the Canadian on this thread: am in US but I have had XM since March. At the end of the dial
there's Canada 360 (Can. news) on 244, Quoi de Neuf? ("What's new?" same thing but in French)
on 245, and Calendar Sportif (Fr. language list of sports channels) on 246. A few other channels
earlier on are in French too I think
 
First they dump the jazz fusion channel from Sirius, and now they're dumping it from XM. Swell.

Monopolies rule!
 
What da hell.....I love The Rhyme and Beyond Jazz. They still have Watercolors and XM Chill, but I definitely do not like the new name for Suite 62. I will wait with patience to see what SiriusXM does next, but its looking very grim.

I believe that relationship was already in the process of being terminated by Starbucks.
 
60's on 6 is promoting the "grand finale" of My Top 6 (which eventually replaced my beloved CQ USA) for tonight. Wonder what'll be there next Saturday Night? Cousin Brucie? That'd be kinda cool...
 
Congrats Mel! You managed to screw up terrestrial radio and now managed to destroy satellite radio. I WILL be cancelling both my subscriptions and damn well better get a refund on my remaning subscriptions. After Sirius/XM crashes and burns, if anyone hears that he's thinking of getting into Wi-Fi/Internet radio, please, someone assasinate him! If anyone should be forbidden by the FCC from ever dabbling in ANY broadcasting venture again it should be him and the Clear Channel vultures.

40s on 4 has always been about all of the music pre-Vegas and pre-rock-and-roll -- standards (Mercer), vocals (Crosby), harmonies (Pied Pipers), even country (Autry) -- not just the big bands.
 
will xm subscribers be able to get both feeds on the sports end??

like sirius gets both home & away feeds BUT xm DOESNT

I'm willing to give XM a chance. The one bright spot for me might be the Elvis channel. As long as they do plenty of his early stuff and not too much of the live concert stuff when he wasn't doing very well.

As a fan I never found his messed up version of "Are You Lonesome Tonight?" to be funny. To me it was sad.

Fred was a good channel. That's a loss. The big 4400 countdown was great.

I'll miss Fred as well, and I hope that 1st Wave will be just as good. To be honest, 1st Wave is actually the better of the two channel names, in that it suggests what the channel is all about (early new wave), unlike some guy's first name.

As for the Decades channels, at least the XM names (each of which has a great ring to them) will carry over. Here's hoping Sirius will at least keep some of the XM Decades elements (the great liners and drops, the reverb from 60s on 6, the Classic AT40 broadcasts).
 
Yesterday I had my first chance to listen to Sirius 50's and 60's channel when I friend of mine invited me on a 5 hour road trip. Not a bad sound. Music with song after song and no jocks blabbing all the time. Sounded good not to have all that jock talk. Maybe I should have picked them several yrs ago. Let's hope with the merger, we will get the best of both worlds.
 
Is the Verge 52 gone? Why didn't they replace it with CBC Radio 3 or something?
 
Sirius is starting to plug changes. For starters,COUSIN BRUCIE'S Wednesday show is moving to Sirius Gold(channell 5).
This was also the last weekend for the 70s Survey with Dave Heffel,there replacing it with the old Casey Casem American Top 40 shows
which have been airing on XM. Heffel is moving to Sirius Gold.
This was also the last week for Do-WOP Gold with TJ Lubinsky ,I was dissapointed to here that,it was an excellent show.
