Yee Hah!

Unintended funny bit on this morning's "Price Is Right" on Ch. 3. Made me snicker anyway.

African-American was in the big Showcase Showdown at the end of the show. He was asked to bid on the first of the showcases. As the doors opened, the announcer said..."It's a trip to Savannah!!" Right then, the music for the trip started: a huge band arangement of "Dixie"! The look on the guy's face was priceless...sort of a cross between incredulous and "yeah, right; does the trip include a stop at a KKK rally"?

Kind of makes you wonder what some people are thinking out on the Left Coast. I'm thinking "Georgia" by Ray Charles would have been more apropos. ;)

I think it was chosen because it is public domain and that means it is cheap.

Wrong on so many levels, I gotta say. *Shakes head* The way Rich Fields puts a unique ooomph into those copy reads probably added extra comedy to it.

O, I wish I was in the land of cotton
Old times there are not forgotten
Look away! Look away!
Look away! Dixie Land.

;D

I actually saw that this morning too... ::)

Who the hell would want to go to Savannah, GA on a vacation anyway? I would think one would only travel there willingly to visit family or friends.

Yeah...FIRST prize on that showcase was a week in Savannah. SECOND prize was TWO weeks in Savannah.

Pass the grits, Bessie Sue.

Jeez, a bash on Savannah...

Anyways, it is an odd choice. Atlanta would sound more resonable, but if it must be a beach city(or close to a beach city in the south) Why not Charleston, Mytle Beach, Wilmington, or the Outer Banks?
