I would stick with the Mavericks. So if the flip to sports/hot/guy talk is true, that could be the reason that the PD left. He must be all music. They’d probably do quite well if they got the Cowboys. Cumulus could need to flip 93.3 to a Ticket simulcast, if that makes sense financially.
I’m just glad iHeart is not flipping KEGL to “97.1 the Brew.” Lol
I don’t see Jerry wanting to dump a sweetheart deal with Audacy to go to 97.1.
I would’ve done it this past ThursdayI think 93.3's current format is highly disposable. Is using 93.3 to rebroadcast 96.7 its highest and best use if 97.1 actually goes (mostly) Sports? I'm skeptical.
They are Pop Alternative if anything. I love the Gin BlossomsGin Blossoms are considered "aggressive alternative?"
Personality is why Kiss 108 in Boston ratings are so strongThe morning shows are certainly a gigantic reason stations such as WMMR, WRIF, WHQG, KXXR, KRXQ, KPNT, WEND and KISW and even smaller market stations such as WGRD and KEZO are so successful.
I think a lot of CHR stations are heavily reliant on personality for success as well.
It did it in such a short amount of time too. Ironically it proves that KVIL didn’t take the Eagle out on its own; it shows that there was heavy rot in KEGL for years if all it took was a few common sense moves by KVIL’s new PD to completely turn the tables. KEGL was still blowing KVIL out of the water this time last year and we were wondering if KVIL had signed their death warrant.I’m just stunned 103.7 took out the Eagle
Why is that stations like KUPD, WMMR and WRIF do so well. But KEGL does so poorly
You just answered your own question.Personality is why Kiss 108 in Boston ratings are so strong
Because they’re trying too much to compete with 103.7. Does anyone have a break down of the station is doing with Russ and without? I feel like their move was so reactionary. Just stop playing 21 pilots. Again, I’m just spewing my opinionWhy is that stations like KUPD, WMMR and WRIF do so well. But KEGL does so poorly
KEGL had been playing Twenty One Pilots for years. Since at least 2016. It was nothing new for them and they were beating KVIL for years. What killed KEGL was not 21p, not when their listeners migrated to a station that plays them even more than KEGL does.Because they’re trying too much to compete with 103.7. But mavs games are mostly after 7:00. If anything basketball just gives them more exposure. I just don’t understand why they change a station with an already high cume? What doomed The Eagle was Russ Martin's death, more than anything. To a lesser degree, I also think some listeners got annoyed at music preemptions for Mavs games, flipped the dial elsewhere, liked what they heard, and devoted more time to those stations than previously.

Cume is not what advertisers buy. It's purely based on "impressions" which is rating, share and AQH persons (all three of which are the same thing).I just don’t understand why they change a station with an already high cume?
Regardless, isn’t that any sort of indicator that enough people were listening to the soon to be previous format? And it’s my understanding 97.1 still bills really well. I think highly risky in an economy that‘s uncertain to spend money on sports talent and to build the format strictly around the Mavericks and nothing else. But I wish them well!Cume is not what advertisers buy. It's purely based on "impressions" which is rating, share and AQH persons (all three of which are the same thing).

Narrator: it didn’t work. And if this doesn't work, another group of people will be out the door.
