At the first station where I ever worked overnight, I drank coffee singles. This was the early '90s, and they weren't available in Tennessee yet, so I bought them in Kentucky. I drank a cup when I first arrived, and another cup about an hour or so later, and I was good for the night. It was only a six-hour shift.
Years later, at my most recent overnight gig, where I worked for 10 years, I went to the other extreme, and just slept through the shift. We had syndicated programming, so it was possible to do that.
I remember that after the last coffee drinker left that station, mold started growing in the coffee pot! Gross! :-X Another coffee drinker at that station would pour the old coffee into the toilet, leading our GM to think that someone there had diarrhea!
