Your Top 10 Favorite CHRs

I completely agree. In addition to having a monster signal that can be heard from Fort Walton Beach all the way to New Orleans on a good day, WABB's variety, imaging, contests, jocks, and presentation are all top-notch. The station really sounds like a CHR station of the glory days, when the lowest possible budget was not ownership's top priority. It's just too bad that they don't stream online!

Best CHR regardless of market size is WABB, Mobile. Bernie Dittman is a genius. Has he been "enshrined" by the NAB as a Marconi winner, yet? If not, we should launch a damn campaign.

KISS in Cleveland just got a snazzy new website, by the way

www.kisscleveland.com

Pretty slick

Their website looks like the website of every other Clear Channel CHR station in the country. So cookie cutter. I can spot one the second it loads. Plus, the music is cookie cutter and even the station name is cookie cutter. Do you know how many "Kiss" stations CC has across the country?

Of course the worst cookie cutter website award goes to Cox. The absolute most boring websites on the net. Heck, they make Microsoft's website look exciting!

Philadelphia/Levittown

1. 94.5 WPST
2. 93.7 WSTW

My new top 10 (don't know how many of these were on my older list). Based mostly on how their playlist matches with my tastes.

1- Kiss FM (WKGS)/Rochester ;D
2- Kiss FM (KIIS)/Los Angeles ;D
3- Jammin JJS (WJJS)/Roanoke ;D
4- Fly 92 (KFLY)/Albany ;D
5- Q94 (WRVQ)/Richmond ;D
6- ZHT (KZHT)/Salt Lake City :D
7- Kiss FM (WFKS)/Jacksonville (Florida) :D
8- Kiss FM (KZZP)/Phoenix :D
9- B-97 (WEZB)/New Orleans :)
10- KRQ (KRQQ)/Tucson :)

New Top 10, but no real order:

1) 93-3 FLZ/Tampa Bay
2) Z100/New York City
3) 101.3 KDWB/Minneapolis-St. Paul
4) Kiss 95.1/Charlote
5) Kiss 106.1/Seattle
6) Q100/Atlanta
7) 106.1 KISSFM/Dallas-Fort Worth
8 ) 97-3 KISSFM/Savannah
9) 95SX/Charleston
10) Kiss 108/Boston

Alot of the stations I've seen named so far are completely horrible. Only 4 make my cut. In no particular order:

Z100 - New York City
101.3 KDWB - Minneapolis
106.1 KISS FM - Dallas/Ft. Worth
106.9 K-Hits - Tulsa

They put the L in LAME! The Cox radio websites could be so much more interactive and special. Websites are meant to be creative, you know?

You're kidding right? I don't even think this station should be classified as CHR. Arbitron had it as a CHR/Rhythmic for a long time and they're repeat is extreme.

as for Cox's websites, I agree they stink. But hey at least they all stream and offer song title info.

FLZ, Channel 955, Kiss Dallas, Kiss Pittsburgh, KDWB, The Beat Atlanta, Y100 Miami,

I recently announced to change #2 and #1. And even then, how much Rhythmic a CHR plays does not classify as how good or bad it is. I actually find liking my market's CHR (KRQQ) topping the rhythmic (KOHT), and in some cities I like their Hot AC more than anything (Phoenix is an obvious choice with Mix, then again I like Kiss), and in some cities I prefer their rhythmic (Chicago, WKSC sounds like junk, at least WBBM has an interesting playlist). And only for the music they play. If they don't play the songs I like, I won't listen, simple as that, and that's what my top 10 is based on. (remember, I never mentioned anything about genre-balance, if that were the case half of those wouldn't be on there) Since WKGS and WJJS both play a ton of rhythmic, I'm probably craving mostly rhythmic songs right now (which is true since the rock on the charts right now is Hinder/Nickelback junk I can't tolerate), or they're playing the rhythmic songs I like.

I'd agree with this...
