You're on the power line with Brother John

it took me a while to remember but WJHS when it first came on the air in 1985, in dire need of programming, ran Powerline and Country Crossroads. (Bob Thomas ran it as "community radio," and we played ANYTHING. Except maybe Tibetan monks chanting.)
This was my skool years (I started on air in 1986.) We got the shows on LP, one show a side if I recall.
Good show but I think the school board made Bob take it off since it WAS a church produced show, and it did have some church overtones.

I met Jon Rivers back in 1981 at the National Gospel Radio Seminar in Dallas. He voiced a 5" reel full of liners for WXIR Love 98 here in Indianapolis which had just started a few months earlier with its contemporary Christian format. I was the PD. I still have the tape somewhere. My ultimate dream come-true would be for Radio Disney to be sold back to a local person/group, the call letters changed back to WXIR with its commercial CCM format and then start using those Jon Rivers liners again before K-Love gets him back!

I'm interested in obtaining copies of Power Line shows; I know it's very hard to find but you never find if you don't ask. I've contacted family life radio, they don't have access anymore from what they told me. If anyone has copies and they're on CD, I'll pay shipping if needed. Thanks!

Did you ever find any copies of the old Powerline shows?
