Both Paul Harvey and Dandalion were obviously programming assets for their time, but as the station aged from 1980 to 1997 when Bob came on, the target of persons 25-54 was fluid. Both Harvey and Dandalion eventually became a liability for Z107 that BOB capitalized on. A 25 year old in 1980 was now 43 in 1997. Keeping a heritage station in-target demo is a tough thing to do, particularly when some of the listeners who age out of the target still listen, still love you and can't understand why you have to change. In time, your biggest assets can become your biggest liabilities. AC stations face the biggest challenges in this regard. What once was Elton John, Billy Joel & Rod Stewart is now Katy Perry and Lady Gaga.
