Jen is done

Just hide Buick59, he is nothing but a troll, he has not once contributed anything to any of these conversations.

These are not conversations they are your opinions, to paraphrase "YOU CAN'T HANDLE A CONVERSATION". They are only your opinions and according to your narrowmindness nobody else is entitled to have a differing opinion. Please get over yourself.

Buick, you have not once ever contributed to anything being talked about here. You tell us to get over the fact a wildly unprofessional host has taken over a Boston and New England tradition of great, live, local overnight talk and turned it into a circus. You just come into these threads and tell us to get over it. What do you care? Unless you like Jen Brien, how does this affect you? I can agree some of the speculation is ridiculous, until anyone has some solid inside info that she is on the way out, it should be avoided. But many of us are long time listeners to WBZ overnights and we are sad to see what it has become at the hands of Jen.

Cape, I agree, I prefer local talk to a national sports talk show, but I strongly prefer DA to Jen. Not even a contest, really.

Unless you are the person she reports to, you have no idea what you're talking about. For all you, or anyone else, knows, her absences could have been cleared with Peter Casey in advance. If you actually do know something about it, we're waiting for your explanation of what you know and how you know it. It's way past time to put up or shut up.

And for those of you who think she owes her audience an explanation: She doesn't work for the audience. They don't pay her. She owes them nothing. The only person to whom she owes ANY notice or explanation at all is her employer. That's how companies actually work.

The comments from the haters here who still listen are getting almost comical. Hint: She's just not worth it. If you don't want her on the air, STOP LISTENING!!!! Did it ever occur to you that PC might infer from this thread (if he even reads it) that "they say they hate her, but they keep listening, so we'll keep her on?" Hosts with an audience tend to keep their jobs. Hosts with no audience don't. What part of this is so difficult for some of you to understand?

This line of thinking absolutely blows me away. So, her absences with Peter Casey might have been cleared? If that is the case, then I guess Mr. Casey forgot to notify the substitute hosts that had to come in and fill in for Jen. For example, last night when Dan Ray had to go an extra hour because Jen did not show up. I guess everyone must have known about it but Dan. And then, when Morgan showed up at 1 a.m. to fill in and let Dan go home, I guess everyone must have known about it except Dan and Morgan. I guess that's why Morgan made his comment alluding to the fact that he had no clue why Jen wasn't there. And did Mr. Casey also clear the absences when Bradley Jay had to pull 7-hour shifts, especially the first one? She is unprofessional, unprepared, ill-equipped and incapable of doing a good job as overnight host on WBZ.

Show that woman....I'll think of her name some time , the door and Peter Casey too for hirining her.

It's beautiful, just beautiful. We can only hope she continues this practice. I don't understand how she "mistakenly" thought she had the night off after only working one day after a week of absences. (as per an earlier post mentioning a Facebook comment that she made) No complaints here, however. NOPE.

Does anyone know her history at the other stations? Did she pull no-shows there as well?

...................So, the woman has been on the job a little more than three months. She just recently took a week off without any notice to her listeners and it was clear that the fill-in hosts were not given much advance notice......................

So, you don't have any idea of why she wasn't there.

I thought you knew something that the rest of us didn't.

I stand corrected.

I'm almost tempted to give her show a listen. Almost.

TSB

I just can't help but thinking about the night I heard her mom (during one of the endearing 'Moments With Mom' segments) admonishing JB not to blow this one.
hmmm, what could that possibly mean?

I've worked with people who were chronically absent/late for work and always had some very plausible excuse. It doesn't negate the fact that it always inconveniences others when it happens.

funny, Morgan White has proven himself to be Mr. Dependabilty over the years (and never more so than this past 3 months), and they passed him over for the job.. If I were him the next time I received another frantic late night phone call, I'd tell 'em to stick it....but he's too classy and professional to do that.

Cliff's Notes: You STILL don't know what you're talking about. You still haven't posted a single, provable *fact.* You only know what you hear on the air and you draw inferences from it...while having only one side of the story, the side you invent in your mind.

No one who has heard her, even just once, will argue with your last sentence, but that's hardly the point. You are reading something into her on-air presence, or lack thereof, in the complete absence of any fact whatsoever.

But it appears the biggest difference between you and him is that Morgan's too smart to blow the best gig he ever had.

When the "silliness-meter" gets to 11, it's a pretty good indication that a thread, which hasn't produced an original thought in 75 posts, has finally augered in.

What more do you need for proof? So I guess Dan Rea doing an extra hour, Morgan White being called at the last minute and showing up at 1 a.m. to fill in for her and Bradley Jay doing 2, 7-hour shifts doesn't confirm the fact that she is absent without notice. Unreal.

By the way, Morgan is on again, Tuesday morning, 10/2. This charade cannot go on much longer. That's 9 days off in a little more than 3 months. I am sure this is what Peter Casey planned when he made this brilliant hire. Let's hire a new host who is never here. Brilliant I say, absolutely brilliant.

I guess this thread is similar to Jen Brien's show; not an original thought in the 3 months plus she has been on the air.

Jen Brien Not On Tuesday Night on WBZ

Morgan White, Jr. is behind the Mic tonight. Jen Brien absent again. For the final time?

Noticed they played her theme but edited out her voice over.

That must mean something.

You really don't give MW very much credit if you think being a fill-in local radio talk show host is "the best gig he ever had" do you?

Morgan White Jr. again tonight...what a surprise...

Not really a surprise at all. Did you notice that they played that woman's theme, I'll think of her name some time, but they edited her audio out of it. That says it all.

Starting to sound like what was going on at 'RKO between Sep and Nov of 2007 and "The Howie Carr Show" starred Todd Feinburg...

>>11/15/07: "Howie Carr officially returns to the airwaves on Friday..."---(a WTKK statement said):"While we strongly disagree with Judge Van Gestel’s decisions, which forced Howie to choose between working for WRKO or being unemployed for five years, we have always said that we would abide by the ruling of the court"

Yeah, unlike Jen, lol. Looks like she is not heeding the advice given by her mother, as referenced in Jenna T's post. "Don't blow this one, Jen". A lot of people picked up on that line that morning, apparently Jen was too busy UH-Humming to hear it.

At least Joe Mathieu is comfortable with this mornings' arrangement. :D

I wonder how many are tuning in now just to see what happens - will Jen show up or not. Meanwhile, hats of to Morgan. I woke up at at 3am and he had a good show going. Probably he has just started doing show prep everyday as a hedge.

As for Jen, there is some old advice along the lines of 90% of anything you do is showing up. Now, I wish her well and hope she isn't having a health issue.

One thing not mentioned about the horse race where Jen was chosen is whether Morgan or Bradley Jay or other people involved wanted the overnight gig full time. It probably gets to be a grind and they have other things they do besides host on BZ.

Today on FB it's "all i can say is right or wrong, good or bad, THIS is exactly as it should be. honor that-
i know it is true. God has a plan."
