KJWL 105.5 Has modified their playlist to play more 70s and 80s Classic hits, dropping anything later, They have added Duran Duran, Prince, INXS, Depeche Mode, Madonna, Blondie, Cameo, Human League, Jackson Browne, and many more.

Sorry to say this station is the worst version of classic hits, I heard sooo many repeats in and actually sooo few artists I heard Elton John Island girl, and Neil Diamond Heart Land 5 times in the last 2 days, maybe beginning stages of a new format, next thing because they own the Fox , No music that is any kind rock not played, No Eagles, Fleetwood mac, REO Speedwagon, No Journey, Styx, Night ranger I can go Forever, this station is no KRTH Classic Hits in LA. So Sorry this station sucks.it will continue to get a 1.0 in the ratings.

This market is so,(alway was) behind the rest of the country on Formats, Classic Rock Stations (Not 95.7) plays music in the 90s like Metallica, Pearl Jam, Green Day like KIOO 99.7 which is blocked in Fresno with this so called KKDJ (Joke station)

The ONLY ORIGINAL Station that had the best format in Fresno was KKDJ 106 (105.9) Dean and Don and the Breakfast Club, and Joe Collins, Mark B. Davis, Harlen Winslow, Jeff Ridel, and many many more...

Just my 3 cents,99.7 KKDJ “The Next Generation” is not only a joke but an embarrassment to the legacy that was 106 KKDJ. I’m hoping that Aunt Penny or Chub will file a lawsuit to take this POS station off the air for good, thank goodness for XM. Now,as far as the Fox vs KIOO (the real 99.7),living around the Kingsburg area when working outside or in the garage my dial is set on 99.7 which IMO, is far superior in the music they play and the style of DJ’s they have delivering the music. 95.7 had better hope that KKDJ does not go away and that KIOO does not go 106.7 KJUG and throw wattage up north giving metro Fresno another legit choice in classic rock. Seriously, the only reason the Fox survives playing the same 100 songs over and over so much that you can actually set your watch by what time they play ‘Turn the page’ is the lack of any threat,KIOO plays music I don’t even think the Fox knows exists, thank goodness once again for XM. My ideal scenario would be bye bye 99.7 KKDJ and, hello Fresno,we are 99.7 KIOO with Dean and Don mornings.

This latest evolution in KJWL isn’t filling the gap between KYNO and The Fox, which would have served a niche. As-is, it’s a reminder that the 70’s and 80’s had more than its share of boring Pop music. Classic hits it is not.

As you watch the continued decline of Iconic rock (The Sound, KFOG, yesterday’s demise of The Loop) and let’s go back to the death of Fresno’s last Icon, the legit KKDJ, one can only wonder when terristerial radio becomes meaningless.

As to Verne’s new fake at 99.7, shut it down. He might be able to sucker the Fresno Bee that KKDJ is back, but for those of us who listened in the day, we know this hobby station is nothing more than yet another example of why Fresno may have more signals than nearly every other market of similar size, but we also have more crap filling our airwaves as well.

Think I will go check out a few Dean and Don memories....Aunt Penny is calling.

I disagree the music on the new Kkdj is really good if you listen there are hundreds of phone callers callling in saying they love the station and the music listen for a while it’s great . I ran into a guy who claims he is the manager and programs the music John Lee Walker is his name I remember him from the kyno days he has done a great job

Hey VOL559 Have you listened lately this week to the new kkdj music is much better all week they have put callers on praising their music. I went to their studios last week as I heard it was in Cocola broadcasting's building I went in the front the lady at the desk directed me to the studios in back I met a fellow there his said he was the Station Manager John Lee Walker he said he was doing the music and programming for the station name sounded familiar he told me he was on kyno when kkdj was number 1. He did say the actual programming live DJs and such were not coming on until their launch sometime in April. He was a very nice guy I gave him some suggestions on classic rock he told me that they were going to play 1350 + songs I don't know this as a fact but he said it was the largest Classic Rock library on air in our area he said it was going to be much bigger than 95.7 or porterville 99.7 . I did notice this week it was much better

Joke station is right!

Thinking out loud here... KSOF is changing, it's not really "soft" - seriously, Whitesnake? Perhaps 105.5 makes more sense than we "guys" may think. KJWL is clearly programmed at women, likely 35+. I tend to wonder if KSOF moves further from it's traditional "soft" base, if KJWL doesn't pick up disgruntled 40 year olds and finds a decent niche? Listening to KJWL this week some, appears they've tweaked the format some.

As to that translator that will occupy 99.7 and cover up a good Classic Rock station that should not be constrained in meeting a need in Fresno, I find it interesting he's just now looking for a Sales Manager. Sorta close to the launch date, don't you think? On the other hand, reviewing the corporate site and the claimed "1 million daily listeners" to the group of LP and otherwise dinky stations (http://thelegendsofrockandroll.com), I would expect the ad dollars will just roll in, right?

The whole point of Soft Rock (I thought) was a radio station that could be played with out offending anybody. I don't think I want to hear "I want her" by Keith Sweat while having a cavity filled!

I could see my mother in law walking out mid procedure at "I want to do it like this, do it like that."

How do you think a station can survive without a sales team I love the music on kkdj I met the manager boss John Lee Walker he is a great programmer. This station is awesome!! As to the big group of stations thank god for good local broadcasters !!

And by the way the 60 dB coverage for 99.7 porter villa only goes legally to kingsburg unless of course they are not running the legal wattage

KSOF 98.9 should change that out of date name "Soft Rock" to something like MIX 98.9 or get a mascot Tiger, Lion, and etc, etc., I always thought that that name should have been changed 10 years ago.

A sales team for a station that is licensed as a "NON-COMMERCIAL" station, LMFAO
