They preempted that for this?

I wonder how many people are now complaining to CBS about yet another "60 Minutes" delay due to extended NFL coverage (now with Jaguars-Broncos bonus coverage in those markets who had Bears-Vikings).

The announcers seemed IMO apologetic about the 60 Minutes delay when they gave a promo for the upcoming broadcast.

Complaints on CBS's Facebook Page on the post they made about tonight's schedule. The line-up is only delayed 16 mins.

7:46 60 Minutes instead of 7:30
8:46 God Friended Me instead of 8:30
9:46 NCIS LA instead of 9:30
10:46 EVIL (Rerun) instead of 10:30.

P.S. They need to get rid of 60 Minutes. The only people watching are in the 65-Death Demographic.

60 Minutes is maybe the only real investigative reporting show left on TV. Plus it makes CBS money, it's not going anywhere.

The 3:30 ET College Football game on CBS overran by half an hour yet again this past Saturday when all was said and done with interviews and postgame. There was no 8:00 PM game this Saturday on CBS.

ABC's games actually ended "on time", if not ahead of schedule. The game ended around 10:12 IIRC, and the Ford Wrap-Up was an entire lengthy postgame discussion akin to CBS's postgame show, instead of just the brief reports that they do when the coverage runs past 11:00. On the West Coast, 8:00/8:30 syndies finally got to air uninterrupted. KABC got Weekend Jeopardy! and KGO got Weekend Wheel of Fortune in full for the first time this season, thanks to KGO's After the Game getting its de facto 8:00-8:30 slot instead of being forced to run until 9:00.

KDFW didn't air the WWE produced WrestleMania's Legendary Moments special that air after the NFL game in several markets after the NFL early afternoon games. they aired E/I programming instead. the WWE special ended up airing on KDFI 27 aka Fox 4 More.

I found it curious they let us know as soon as 9:00 when the listings said 9:30.

I always make sure to add 30 minutes after football, but since I watch almost live, I could do that manually too.

I wish WFMY wouldn't even list "Jeopardy" because the 6:00 newscast is inevitably going to run over into the program this time of year. Also, why call it a 6:00 newscast when it starts long after 7?

And this week, WCNC joined "Jeopardy" in progress when Alex interviewed the contestants. I thought by now I'd have a way of remembering for sure which episodes I had seen, but for these I'd better have already seen them.

Most local affiliates will still call their newscasts "News at 6/10/11, etc" even if they are delayed by a sporting event. WNYW/FOX 5 NY still refers to their nighttime newscasts at "News at 10" even when sporting events force it well past 11. Other affiliates refer to it as "News X after the game" or "News X special edition".

I forgot NBC started showing CF games this past weekend. I thought it started next weekend, and it seems their carriage will vary between games running from 3:30-7:00 and 7:30-11:00 ET. Knoxville is one of a handful of markets that doesn't carry the weekend reruns of Jeopardy! at all, so WBIR/NBC 10 moves Wheel to the 7:30 slot (normally 7:00) and airs local news at 7:00 if there is a 3:30 game, although I don't know if the news would affect Wheel in the case of overrun. A few Saturdays ago, I checked several CBS affiliates via a location spoofer and CBS All Access after a 30-minute CF overrun, and about half the stations that scheduled the 7-8 hour as "7-News/7:30-Wheel" aired Wheel at 7:30 ET/6:30 CT anyway, while the other half aired the news and no Wheel.

Back in November 2016, WOF scheduled a new episode to air on Saturday 11/12 because of the scheduled Election Day episode featuring a notable winner, so they slid back the Tue-Fri episodes to air Wed-Sat and moved up the weekend rerun to air Election Day for any markets that did still air Wheel (such as Atlanta which aired it on WATL, a MyTV affiliate, so there was no election coverage there). Of course, the "new Saturday" episode didn't air in many cities because ABC's 3:30 game that day overran by at least half an hour, pre-empting all 7:00 ET airings and most 7:30 ET airings as well due to local news. I know WABC New York and WLS Chicago did not air the episode. I believe CBS's game that day did end on time as a WBZ Boston viewer managed to recap it. There is also a video on YouTube of this "rare" episode as aired on KTVT Dallas.

I'm glad ABC finally got the hint about 7:00 ET programs being hopeless filler and just decided to schedule their own national filler. Hopefully CBS gets the hint as well. Several CBS stations list Weekend Wheel at 7:00 (such as WBZ Boston, WPRI Providence, WTSP Tampa, and many others) but have never been able to air it yet this season because of the consistent 30+ minute overruns. I actually got to talk with a WOF contestant named Beverly who was on the episode that reran 9/21 (originally aired 1/21/19). I let her know her episode was coming back on that day, but that she likely wouldn't be able to see it since she's from Dayton and watches on WHIO, which also lists Wheel at 7:00 right after the game's scheduled end. She was aware of this and fully expected CF overrun to take over, which it did; she basically said, "It is what it is".

Interestingly, a few months ago, WFMY permanently rescheduled Weekend Wheel to late Sunday nights at 11:35 PM and sometimes 12:05 AM, even if there are no sporting events on Saturday; the 7:00 slot is replaced with infomercials otherwise. WNEM Flint has no hope for any time for game shows during CF season; 7:00 goes to local news and 7:30 goes to infomercials, which presumably gets taken over by news if there's overrun; they're among the several affiliates that do not air Weekend Jeopardy! and/or Wheel at all during CF season.

You can check recaps of Jeopardy! episodes here to see who the contestants/winners are by matching them up with the episode number/air date in listings: http://j-archive.com/

And here is the weekend lineup for Wheel reruns, plus if you scroll down, there's more info on what stations don't air Wheel at all on CF days, or only air it if games end "on time": http://buyavowel.boards.net/thread/10946/season-36-saturday-reruns

all of the DFW stations had to interrupt into programming this morning as the verdict for the Amber Guyger trial came in today, Guyger was found guilty of murder in the 2018 death of Botham Jean. i'm sure the DFW stations will interrupt programming once the sentencing phase of the trail is over and Guyger will find out if she gets life in prison, the death penalty or a few years in prison. don't know when the sentencing phase will happen, but i'm sure when it does, the DFW stations will preempt/interrupt regularly scheduled programming.

ABC and Fox are the only networks that have college football (Or baseball in Sept. and Oct. for Fox) regularly on Saturday nights in the fall and have a reason to schedule the 7 PM ET slot on a regular basis. With CBS and NBC it's only an occasional thing and they usually start a night game if they have one at 8 PM ET so they only have to schedule for college football in the 7 PM slot occasionally if ever at all.

They did something similar with the Arizona stations with the Jodi Arias case.

it's just happen moments ago, but WFAA has interrupted the final moments of Daily Blast Live and basically started their 4 PM newscast and KDFW has interruted the start of Judge Judy to bring coverage as Amber Guyger was just sentened to 10 years in prison for killing Botham Jean and thus officially the trail is now over. KTVT & KXAS stuck with regular programing as they were about to start their 4 PM news anyway, only KDFW doesn't do 4 PM News

Around 5:30-5:45 CDT, Bears-Vikings game coverage on CBS was interrupted by my local affiliate (WCIA-3 Champaign, IL) for severe weather coverage. There had been tornado warnings in the northern part of their viewing area earlier, but was all severe thunderstorm warnings by the time the storm system approached Champaign.

Considering this market has strong Chicago Bears allegiances, their Facebook page lit up with viewer complaints and outrage as the interruption approached 15 minutes.

The same thing happened in the Peoria/Bloomington DMA to the northwest, as the storms which later affected Champaign originated in Fulton County, IL and were tornado warned until at least Bloomington (southwest of Peoria and in Peoria DMA).

Both CBS affiliate WMBD-31.1 and NBC affiliate WEEK-25.1 interrupted sports coverage (Bears NFL game on CBS, NASCAR on NBC) for weather warnings, and the outrage in Peoria among some vocal FB commenters was predictable.

According to a fan on the show's Facebook page, KOLN in Lincoln, Nebraska (CBS) cut off the end of Monday's Wheel of Fortune for severe weather coverage - the show was interrupted during the part where the winner was choosing her "three consonants and a vowel" in the Bonus Round (which she won). Not sure if this affected CBS primetime.

How dare they! Treason!
