I swear every time I read this thread of MTV I am always reminded of how people used to think of radio though back when AM was the home of CHR/Top 40 and Hot AC in their home cities though. But it was a different era though. Also current management of the recording labels are thinking in terms of finding the growing demos though.
Yes MTV used to mean something though such as cutting edge music videos, concerts, awards and reality TV for two demographics from Gen X and Gen Y.
But this venue is no longer meant for Generations X, Y and Millennials as it did two decades ago its a different era though the current leadership of MTV and CBS has to find out how to please a current money demos though and how to be relevant to those born in the late 1990's-early 2000's. Its about looking at trends that Gen Z supports though. Its about them now.
If CBS has to rename MTV as Pluto Network or all access to please Gen Z demo effectively with content that relates to them then so be it.
