They preempted that for this?

There is no FOX "optional" sports this weekend. All sports events are nationwide

Saturday at 3:30 CDT is the NASCAR Xfinity race then PBA Bowling at 6
Sunday is the NASCAR cup race at 2:00 with pre-race at 1:30

Severe weather warnings will beat Jeopardy every time.

Indeed. And not that it is the reason, but it’s worth noting four people in the viewing area had already been killed by the day’s first round of severe storms. It’s an illustration just a few hours earlier of why this kind of information takes precedence...a handful of misguided malcontents notwithstanding.

Last night was the Vermont COVID-19 Town Hall. Two co-owned stations in the Burlington market and one in the Albany, NY market aired it from 7-8 PM Eastern. The following programs were pre-empted:

WVNY ABC 22: Local news, Inside Edition (the latter does not re-air)
WFFF FOX 44: The Big Bang Theory x 2, bumped to 2:00/2:30 AM in place of a repeat of the 10:00 PM newscast
WTEN ABC 10: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! (both moved to WXXA FOX 23 in place of local news and Judge Judy)

I'm in Lebanon, NH, this week. On cable, Wheel/Jeopardy is on WPTZ Plattsburgh and hasn't been pre-empted or moved yet.

Yeah, I checked NH, plus the rest of the Burlington, VT and neighboring Watertown, NY markets. WVNY/WFFF were the only stations in the former to air the Town Hall according to Zap2It; the latter market didn't carry it at all.

WKRN ABC 2 in Nashville aired tornado warning coverage for most of the evening, pre-empting World News Tonight, Wheel of Fortune, Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, Holey Moley, and part of To Tell the Truth. They signed off around 9:30 PM Central. The only show that is being made up is Millionaire, airing at 12:06 AM.

Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot gave a speech last night at 6:30 PM Central. It aired on all of Chicago's major affiliates except for one. The following programs were pre-empted:

WBBM CBS 2: Entertainment Tonight
WMAQ NBC 5: Access Hollywood
WLS ABC 7: Wheel of Fortune
WGN 9: WGN Evening News
WCIU CW 26: Mike & Molly
WFLD FOX 32: The Big Bang Theory
WMEU "The U" 48: Live PD: Police Patrol

WPWR My 50 was the only station that did not air the speech, sticking with Family Feud.

Lightfoot spoke again at 6:30 on Friday. WLS aired it, and I imagine at least some of the others did as well.

KCEN NBC 6 in Temple, Texas aired coverage of a protest/rally in honor of Michael Dean, a local African-American man who was killed by a police officer during a traffic stop last December (the cop was charged with manslaughter in February). Wheel of Fortune was fully pre-empted, and World of Dance was JIP'd around 7:35 PM Central. Both shows were repeats.

this upcoming Tuesday WHIZ NBC Zanesville, OH (the only station in the market btw) is airing a "Shoutout to Ohio's Class of 2020" special" at 7pm pre-empting a newscast and Family Feud (which wont be made up)

Looks like WBNS CBS Columbus is the "mothership station" that is producing it. That pre-empts Jeopardy and Wheel which will be shown at 2:07 and 2:37 that night (early Wednesday Morning)

Tonight was the Massachusetts Senate Debate. It was carried in the Albany, Providence, and Springfield markets, but not Boston, oddly enough. It aired from 7-8 Eastern. The following affiliates pre-empted the following shows:

WTEN ABC 10 Albany: Jeopardy!, Wheel of Fortune - both moved to sister WXXA FOX 23, replacing local news and Judge Judy

WPRI CBS 12 Providence: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! - both moved to MyTV 12.2, replacing Family Feud and local program Dan Yorke State of Mind

WWLP NBC 22 Springfield: Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy! - both pre-empted entirely

WWLP CW 22.2 Springfield: Family Guy x 2 - pre-empted entirely

That special is actually an encore. It originally aired last Saturday 6/6 at 7:00 on at least WBNS.

There was severe weather in the Lincoln, Nebraska area tonight. KLKN ABC 8 and KOLN CBS 10/11 both aired coverage for much of the evening. KLKN pre-empted Entertainment Tonight and at least part of The Conners. KOLN pre-empted Wheel of Fortune and NCIS in full; they signed off at 8:00 Central for FBI, but continued to run crawls.

Last night at 6:30 PM Mountain was the Colorado Senators' Debate. It was hosted by KUSA NBC 9 out of Denver and was simulcast on KKCO NBC 11 in Grand Junction. Colorado Springs did not carry it. KUSA bumped Entertainment Tonight to 1:07 AM in place of a repeat of the 10 PM newscast. KKCO bumped Wheel of Fortune to 2:00 AM in place of Paid Programming.

There was also a debate in Upstate New York that was carried on WIVB CBS 4 in Buffalo and WROC CBS 8 in Rochester, from 7-8 Eastern. Both stations followed their usual protocol for pre-empting Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! - moved to WNLO CW 23 in Buffalo and bumped to 1:37 and 2:37 AM in Rochester.

Tonight, ABC O&O WTVD 11 in Raleigh is airing an hour-long "Storm Ready" special at 7:00 PM Eastern. Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will both air on a one-day delay starting tomorrow, with the shows' Friday episodes on Saturday and no previous-season repeats this weekend.

Coincidentally, for the Wheel episodes that are rerunning this week, when these episodes originally aired, WTVD also delayed the Thu-Fri episodes to Fri-Sat due to severe weather coverage pre-empting the Thursday episodes of both game shows. While J! was moved to 11.2 Localish that day, Wheel was put on a one-day delay because the affected episode had two contestants who were UNC med students.

This weekend FOX has national programming (times CDT)
Saturday is Xfinity race at 2:30 then PBA Bowling at 5 (or when race ends)
Sunday is the Cup race at 2:30 with pre-race before

so the early afternoon programming is up to the affiliates (paid programs,. movies, syndicated programs etc) ;)

Looks like this special (or a different one with the same title) is re-airing this Wednesday at 7:00 on WLIO NBC 8 in Lima. Wheel and Jeopardy! (both of which are now repeats) are both pre-empted entirely.

WLIO is also one of the only affiliates that does not carry either show's weekend run at all; they instead air Inside Edition Weekend Saturdays at 7:00, then when that show was reduced from 60 minutes to 30, Mom reruns took the 7:30 slot. The only other affiliate that has not recently carried either game show on weekends is WHSV ABC 3 in Harrisonburg, VA, instead airing an infomercial and local program "Virginia Dreams Center Stage" in the 7:00 hour on Saturdays. This is not counting the handful of stations that began pre-empting one or both shows on weekends with infomercials once the pandemic hit.

Last night, KABC 7 in Los Angeles aired a special on the George Floyd protests titled "From Protests to Progress" from 7-8 PM Pacific. Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune were bumped to 2:07 and 2:37 AM, pre-empting most of ABC World News Now and JIP'ing it at 3:07.
