A news item today on WBZ reported on Kuhner's staff reaching out to Boston Mayor Kim Janey's staff on behalf of a homeless man who called into Kuhner's show. The homeless guy got some help, as I understood it.

This is a great example of why live and local radio is so important. Jeff and Howie connect with their audience very well which is why they have great ratings aged 6 and up for a talk station. WRKO is remaining a top ten radio station because the morning and afternoon shows are entertaining and informative.
Because there is virtually nothing else on the station. And only one of them is actually on the payroll, the other is a syndicated show that they can't take credit for.
They have ONE employee on the air? The rest of the day are syndicated shows. This is why they are a top 10 station?
but... but... the ratings! They're THRU THE ROOF!
What do you consider “through the roof”?
WRKO is the 8th most popular station in Boston. Jeff deserves credit for that performance along with Howie. I don’t care who pays the talent. Howie has a local based show. The hatred by a few people here does not reflect his great ratings and success. I still think Jeff is very talented and does a great job for his advertisers. A poster here who allegedly hasn’t listened to Jeff in 8 years remembers an ad he did. A great example of Jeff’s ability to sell. I understand that facts get in the way of opinion.
WRKO will continue to have great ratings with Jeff. Keep hating!!

LMAO...the ad aired a day ago on Howie's show and it wasn't because GOONER is so damn brilliant at selling, it's because the can't pronounce words, that's why the ad stands out. SMH. And to be clear, it's not "allegedly" that I haven't listened for 8 years, it's a FACT. GOONER is a clown, FACT. Let's talk about ratings shall we? Anyone know the EXACT ratings of GOONER's show???? Anyone??? I don't care about the station ratings, I want to know what his personal show ratings are, anyone??? How much does Howie pay RKO to be on the station??

I doubt it's a joke Howie isn't clever enough and secondly, he corrects himself once in awhile.
In terms of business success 6+ ratings and ranking 8th in the 6+ demo are worthless when making a ad buy. I don't have to look at a ratings book to know that the Crazy Kuhner Report is not a success where it counts. Just listen to the advertisers that buy his show. I know for a fact that you can buy his show for short money. Kuhner has a loyal following with the older angry far right wingers who feel the world is against them. In terms of influence with the general population in the market compared to Howie Carr, or those who have gone before Kuhner like Jerry Williams, David Brudnoy and Peter Meade, Kuhner is insignificant. The guy can't get a newspaper to publish his columns he has to beg people to read it on the RKO site and send it to friends and family.
I think he is published not in the big papers but in conservative freebies like Boston Broadside and Valley Patriot.

It was either last year or earlier this year that I received a 'free' sample copy of Boston Broadside, it just showed up in my mailbox. IIRC it costs $30 for a 12 month subscription and the paper only publishes once a month. You can go online and read a few articles free, GOONER not included, you have to pay to read his nonsense! As an aside, yesterday I received a 'free' sample copy of The Epoch Times. This one publishes weekly and for $139 you can get 12 months worth plus 3 months free.
You are right but the BB and the Patriot will publish just about anyone with a far right wing conservative opinion. Someone drops off a dozen copies of the BB at my local pizza shop so I read it almost every month. When she is not selling houses former nationally syndicated radio talk host ( I believe she was on 2 Salem radio stations for about 9 months ) Dr. Grace is the " Communications Director for the Broadside.
I know from someone who was at the meeting that Kuhner had talked with the Herald a few years ago about a weekly column. After meeting with Kuhner and reading his Washington Times columns the Herald took a pass. That is one of the reasons Kuhner dumps on the Herald whenever he can.

OMG! GOONER and his wife are copycatting Howie and his wife! Howie has a regular weekly column, GOONER has a monthly column, Howie's wife 'the mailroom manager" aka "submit" used to or maybe still does sell houses, Howie's wife is President of the HCRN (Howie Carr Radio Network), GOONER's wife is communications director for BB. How long before GOONER starts writing books and has an online store??? How long before GOONER starts broadcasting from Florida???
