That coverage map is inaccurate. It’s not on the Empire State Building anymore due to interference complaints from WKMK in NJ in 2012. I remember when that translator launched, I could hear it as far as Edison, interfering with Thunder 106.3. They reduced power but because the ESB is so high, it still interfered, so it was ordered to shut down. At the time, Thunder 106.3 was the only country station listenable in the NYC area so they did have listeners in Manhattan who listened through the static. One of the complaints was from someone who listened from his office at the Empire State Building.
Because of the interference complaints, it reduced the value of the translator significantly. If it signed on now, it probably wouldn’t get as many complaints because most country listeners would listen to 94.7. But the past complaints would preclude it moving back to the Empire State Building, and definitely not to the World Trade Center which is 3 miles closer to Eatontown.
