I went to the beach

Some of these don't have their own topics.

I thought there was a thread for the new classic country station in Florence. It was weird the first time I tried it. John Denver and Pure Prairie League? Also Juice Newton and another crossover artist I can't remember now. And Alabama, though the song wasn't crossover as far as I know.

And the signal was poor even in Marion. Today, the songs sounded more like what one would expect from classic country. "Till The Rivers All Run Dry" by Don Williams. Now THAT'S country.

Wave 104 plays AC/DC every night at 10. And they played three in a row, and not all of the songs were familiar. "Back in Black" was the live version, the DJ said at the end. The first song had "rock" in the title but I don't remember what that was. Might have been "Let There Be Rock". He also listed "Sink the Pink".

And I should haver spent more time finding out more about that.

Another station which doesn't seem to have a thread is Carolina Gold. I forgot about it but found it when I pressed "scan" on the way home. There's a lot of good stuff happening in the morning. And the music was actually good. I was surprised, though, since the station is supposedly licensed to Conway, that the signal was getting messed up In Conway. And I pretty much lost it not long after that.

Theyre on 93.9, 93.7 and 106.3

I'm on the Maryland "Gold" owned by the same guy

As a classic country air talent as well, i find zero wrong with Juice Newton and pure prairie league.

They do seem weird on a classic country station, but mainly because I heard them together and they were the first songs I heard.

The classic country station also has signal problems in Marion.

Something else I'm curious about. No change in my car radio, so I wonder why this year, unlike past years, WEBK did not completely disappear when I passed the tower of WQPD in Brownsville. Frequencies don't matter. My radio just went silent when I passed the tower, which is right next to the road..

Another topic that doesn't have its own thread.

Jim Morgan is a legendary DJ in Myrtle Beach. Now he is on the beach music station 94.9 the Surf. He did a "Name That Tune" game and I don't know what it is called, but he was listing some of the guesses and he believed he would have to increase the length of the clip to four tenths of a second. There's no way I could guess it. I kept listening until he revealed what the song was and I don't even remember. Some of the guesses came from people who obviously were listening online because they were too far away for the broadcast signal.
